In an eclectic style. This is how they decorated their flat in Warsaw.

This 130-square-metre flat in Warsaw is the result of the work of Diana Żurek and Gutek Girk from Furora Studio — a design that combines family comfort with a bold play of colours. The original layout has been completely rearranged to accommodate a spacious kitchen connected to the living room and large glazing leading to a small study.

The changes proposed by the architects have given the interior fluidity and functionality tailored to the rhythm of life of a family with two children. From the moment you enter, your attention is drawn to the sunny shades of oak, which create a warm backdrop for the colourful splashes on the walls, tables and chairs. The designers deliberately combined subtle whites with intense accents, making the interior both calming and stimulating — a mixture of harmony and energy, designed with everyday life and play in mind.

Materials and details

The interior has been “sprinkled” with small tiles of varying rhythms: from square, monochromatic tiles, through irregular sticks, to tangerine metro tiles combined with classic mosaics. The variety of formats and textures is not accidental — it is the language through which the design communicates the functions of individual zones, introducing rhythm and dynamics where needed.

The raw geometry of the rectangular divisions is broken up by soft arches, visible in the furniture and wall details, which give the interior a friendly, almost sculptural character. Natural stone in the bathrooms adds elegance and durability, while the rounded edges of the furniture and practical storage solutions meet the needs of a family with small children.

Zones and atmosphere

The living room with large windows flows smoothly into the kitchen, creating an open space conducive to spending time together and children playing. The study, separated by a glass wall, maintains the intimacy of work while remaining part of home life — a compromise between concentration and family closeness.

In the master bedroom, the bathroom opens onto the room through round skylights, and soft, rounded lines and strong patterns in the details create a relaxing atmosphere. The children’s rooms are filled with scattered, unruly colour accents that appear on the walls and furniture, providing space for play and imagination.

The entire project is a feast of colours, patterns and rhythms arranged with a touch of freedom and a pinch of humour, making the interior vibrant with life.
