The intimate headquarters of two creative brands in Saska Kępa (Spektaklove, a producer of contemporary theatre productions, and Jaguarec, a studio specialising in music and sound design for artistic and commercial projects) has undergone a transformation that proves how thoughtful design can unlock the potential of even familiar spaces. Urszula Sworczuk of Studio Projektowe MUTUO is responsible for the concept; rather than opting for a radical change, she focused on precise interventions and making the most of the existing layout.
The decision to remain in Saska Kępa was made after a long search for a larger office. The new locations offered space, but not an atmosphere conducive to teamwork. That is precisely why the project involved refreshing and reorganising the interior with minimal intervention – the premises are rented, so every solution had to be carefully considered in terms of durability, cost and flexibility.
The result is a space that has gained an additional office room and two separate meeting rooms where there used to be just one. This has significantly improved the day-to-day organisation of work, allowing teams to operate in parallel without disrupting one another. The space has become more intuitive, and its layout has been tailored to the specific needs of creative industries.
Colour plays a key role in the design. Inspiration was drawn from the modernist identity of Saska Kępa and the early phase of Le Corbusier’s work, in which colour was an integral element of architecture. At the Spektaklove & Jaguarec office, colour organises the space, defines functions and brings a sense of freshness, without overwhelming the users’ work. It is a tool that has allowed the interior to be given a distinct character without the need for costly and permanent alterations.

Another key principle was to minimise purchases. Instead of standard furniture and accessories, the focus was on sourcing second-hand items – unusual pieces, often with a history, which bring authenticity and individual character to the interior. These are complemented by single-colour laminate fitted units, which provide cohesion and serve as a calm backdrop for the collected furnishings.
The new look of the Spektaklove & Jaguarec office shows that a functional and distinctive workplace does not require spectacular expenditure or a change of address. All it takes is a careful look at the existing space and a design that responds to the real needs of the users. As a result, the office in Saska Kępa has become a refined, comfortable working environment, fully tailored to the daily tasks of both teams.
