It has 70 sq m. Family house in Wrocław

Its interior was designed by Iga Kostrzewska and Karolina Maj. The family home is located on the outskirts of Wrocław. A couple lives here with their son and pet. The effect was achieved by changing the functional layout.

The designers’ task was to create interiors on the ground floor, design the staircase and a large bathroom on the first floor. On the ground floor, the architects focused on creating the right proportions for the kitchen and the island. In the main bathroom, they rearranged the layout so that the room took on the character of a home spa.

The intention was to be crisp and natural. The idyllic atmosphere can be felt from the moment you enter the house. The hall is decorated with high-quality wallpaper in natural patterns and opens up to the kitchenette with a wide glass door that lets in plenty of light. Just behind it is a small guest toilet, whose colour scheme is in keeping with the upstairs bathroom.

We used a large mirror in it to enhance the natural lighting in the room. This is also the first time that green has been used in this area, and it will run gently through the entire interior, accentuating and contrasting the natural, light shades of tiles, worktops and walls,” say the designers.

The ground floor area has been functionally divided. On the one hand, the parts are separated, but on the other hand, their aesthetics make them visually coherent. The main kitchen passageway is separated by a narrow island. The passageway leads to a bright dining area with a round table and continues into the living room corner. This is the ideal place to relax with a book and a cup of tea in hand.

A colour scheme based on a combination of wood and light shades of other materials with natural patterns dominates the entire interior. The straight lines have been broken up with curves, as can be seen in the roundness of the island, the staircase or the soft forms of the furniture.

In the main bathroom, we have focused on function – we have clearly separated the bath area from the washbasin and toilet area. The interior of this room is in keeping with the colour scheme of the other spaces – wood, stone and natural patterns intermingle with greenery. We have also used a large amount of artificial light, which allows us to create various lighting scenarios, which perfectly fits the concept of a home spa,” summarise Iga Kostrzewska, Karolina Maj, who designed the family home.
