The new interior of the house was designed by Martyna Stranz. The building is located near Poznań and was built in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The two-storey house has been given a new design to best suit the needs of the residents.
Renovating older houses is quite a challenge. Often unforeseen problems arise that have to be solved on the fly. Sometimes even changing the design to accommodate the surprises discovered. This was also the case with this renovation. Ideas and concepts evolved many times.
The interior redevelopment was divided into several phases to possibly allow the residents to function in it without having to move out. The first work started as early as 2016, when the kitchen cabinets were replaced. The owners opted for white, matt-coloured, made-to-measure fittings.
The next works took place in 2021 and involved a change in the functional layout. The night area was moved entirely to the ground floor. This allowed the upper room, which had previously been a bedroom adjacent to the kitchen, to be used for other purposes. The kitchen itself was connected to the dining area. The table set up can accommodate up to 10 people. The dining room quickly became the heart of the house. Daily meals, family gatherings and the children’s artwork all take place there. The kitchen was enriched by a functional island.

The master bedroom has been divided into three sections. The first one is restful and stands out with bookshelves and a sofa. The second part is the night area. A bed by the Polish manufacturer Szyszka Design has been set up and a Noo.ma coffee table next to it. The third part is the dressing room, which is separated from the sleeping area by a wooden structure.
The interior of the house was decorated with furniture and accessories from well-known chain shops, but also from Scandinavian high-end manufacturers. Some of the objects are items from Polish manufacturers. The walls were decorated with art, paintings by authors such as Grzegorz Worpus, Nikodem Szpunar or Tomek Opaliński, or less recognisable ones such as the Polish artist living in France Kasia Kocot-Lewińska. In the bedroom, meanwhile, you will find a hand-painted figurine and a vase from Polish artist Agata Pietrusz.
