It is on the Oder. Family flat in Wrocław

It has 90 sq m. The family flat in Wrocław was designed by Natalia Kostrzewska. The premises are located in a pre-war villa, from which it is close to the river. The spacious place was filled with buildings in warm wood tones and colourful accessories.

The owners of the flat wanted to create a spacious living area where all members of the household could spend time together. In order to achieve this effect, considerable changes had to be made. A load-bearing wall had to be knocked down, the kitchen had to be moved and with it all the installations. The summer lounge was also absorbed in order to enlarge the living area, which in turn involved designing new window openings. The result was a place full of natural light that has become the heart of the home for people who like to cook and spend time with a book in hand.

The designed kitchen is ready for any culinary revolutions. By dispensing with wall cabinets, it has gained lightness. At the same time, it offers plenty of storage space in the light-coloured cabinetry. It is complemented by a display cabinet and a bar in the extension of the low kitchen, which almost becomes a seating area.

Together with the clients, the designer opted for natural oak fronts with a frame. The mosaic carpet, which protects the wooden floor from dirt and damage and at the same time adds character to the whole, distinguishes the lower installation. It is the one strong accent in this subdued room. On the other hand, the dining room closes with an extensive library, home to countless books and display space.

The bedroom has been attractively arranged. It offers a view of the garden, so the room is the ideal place to start a lazy day. Such mornings can be spent in bed with a soft upholstered headboard, perfect for reading books. A hanging walnut bedside table with marble handles completes the look. The large wardrobe wardrobe, by softening the sides and open shelves, does not dominate the space so much, making it cosier without losing storage space.

As the vestibule is quite small and space in it was sacrificed for a large wardrobe wardrobe, the designer moved the console into the hallway. It is a charming piece of furniture that sets the mood and is also a practical place to put your handbag or keys. The stucco that appears on the wall with the mirror reproduces the stucco on the door in the same corridor. At the end of the corridor, there is space for a small toilet,” explains the designer.

Finally, the bathroom. Despite its small size, the designer decided to use three types of tiles, wooden fronts and stone accents. This variety is surprisingly consistent here and creates space for a home spa.
