The interior of a flat in Toruń was designed by Monika Ledzion of NOM Studio. It is a 120 sq m space where a young couple with a child found their home. The resulting interior is a skilful combination of modern style and classic spirit.
The décor of the flat in Toruń is distinguished by a wide colour palette. The diversity gives the interior energy and a positive atmosphere. Right from the entrance, we are greeted by geometric wallpaper, an atmospheric old lamp and a chest of drawers that the architect found on a second-hand furniture portal. The flat has been meticulously renovated with restored furniture as its main feature.
Each element of the décor has been chosen with a view to preserving the original style while introducing a touch of freshness and modernity, says Monika Ledzion.
The main zone is the living area, which is well-lit thanks to large windows. The designer has used a bright colour scheme here. The table, chairs and display cabinet are second-hand furniture. Thanks to them, an interior with soul has been created.
The owners wanted a classic layout and a separate kitchen. The room was designed in blue tones complemented by brown accents. Zangra ceiling lamps harmonise with the burgundy-coloured lamp above the table. The space is crowned with beige kitchen fronts, which harmonise with the quartz sintered worktop.
A real oasis of calm is the bedroom. The blue bookcase in this room harmonises with the browns on the curtains. The designer also kept in mind a place to work remotely. A comfortable desk stood in the bay window in the bedroom. It is also a vintage piece of furniture.
The typically stonelike atmosphere is emphasised by the tiled cooker, which currently only has a decorative function. The bedroom is the owners’ favourite room in this flat,” adds the designer.
The small bathroom was designed in navy blue complemented by brass. On the floor, there is a tile in a chequerboard pattern. The shape is reminiscent of a stoneware mosaic. The wall-mounted bathtub was exposed on a wall of geometric Wow Ceramica tiles.
The flat was designed with respect for the history of the place through the use of recycled furniture and details that emphasise the tenement atmosphere, while maintaining a modern and functional character through the addition of contemporary built-ins and furniture, concludes Monika Ledzion.
