It’s in Warsaw and has a rural atmosphere! An apartment with ceramics from Bolesławiec

The flat in Warsaw is approximately 70 square metres in size. Its interior was designed by Paulina Bielaszka. The designer wanted to give the space an idyllic atmosphere, which is why she created an interior that draws on the Polish countryside, but interprets it in a contemporary, light and sensitive way. It is a flat where everyday life intertwines with sentiment, and tradition is filtered through the designer’s sensitivity and the owners’ dreams.

Right from the entrance, a restored cinema armchair catches the eye. This unusual piece of furniture, taken from another time and context, becomes a striking accent that opens up a narrative of eclecticism and respect for objects with history. The hallway features delicate stucco work, which not only decorates the walls but also cleverly conceals the passage to the main bathroom, introducing an element of surprise to the space.

The corridor leads further into the living area, where attention is drawn to the bookcase in the alcove, decorated in intense cobalt blue. This shade recurs throughout the apartment, creating a coherent visual narrative. It can be seen in the shiny tiles above the kitchen worktop, in the washbasin cabinet and in the wall lamps placed behind the headboard. The colour becomes the hallmark of the apartment, while giving it freshness and character.

In the living room, which is connected to the dining room and kitchenette, a stylised table with carved legs takes centre stage. Designed for shared meals and conversations, it brings a homely warmth to the interior. It is accompanied by ceramic lamps with a soft, draped form, which soften the space and add subtle elegance.

The kitchen pays homage to tradition without sacrificing modern functionality. A stylised display cabinet and hand-painted tiles inspired by ceramics from Bolesławiec – particularly important to the owner – give it a unique character. The apartment also features a hen motif, treated with a pinch of salt. It can be seen, among other places, on the original ACH! studio poster, which adorns the cosy reading corner and adds a touch of humour to the interior design.

The bedroom is decorated in warm beige tones, which create an atmosphere conducive to relaxation. The soft headboard, light curtain fabrics and decorative chandelier create a space where it is easy to find peace and regeneration. This is a room where every detail has been chosen to promote rest.

The owners received an apartment that fulfilled their dream of a home with a capital “H” – one in which design does not dominate people, but harmonises with their needs and sensibilities.
