Like a white villa. House project near Warsaw

It has more than 500 sq m. The house, like a white villa, will be built near Warsaw. Its design was made by architects from the Exterio studio. It will soon be inhabited by a family with children who value the comfort of everyday life. An important element was also the design of the leisure space both indoors and outdoors, hence the attractive arrangement of the terrace with swimming pool.

The single-family house with a usable area of just over 500 sq m will be built on a wooded plot in a secluded location near Warsaw.

We proposed a combination of clean, austere architecture and nature. We have designed a building with flat roofs and numerous terraces, the horizontal layout of which is to fit in with the arrangement of tall trees found on the plot and provide an excellent view of the surrounding nature, ” says the author of the project, arch. Marcin Klukowski, co-owner of the Exterio studio.

The body of the house is reminiscent of elegant, modernist villas. Its façade and window woodwork are kept in a uniform light colour, hence the name of the project – Rezydencja Jasna.

The planes of parts of the façade are emphasised by changing their structure and introducing vertical risalits. This expressive detail is one of the main distinctive differences in the façade of the building, introducing a characteristic symmetry and play of light into the aesthetics of the house.

The form of the building is emphasised by expressive, massive cornices, dividing the mass into levels. Broken by rounded and sloping edges, they give the building a varied, dynamic character. They also provide canopies for the numerous niches and terraces below.

On the front side, the building has sharply defined corners. The main entrance is planned in the arcade formed by the overhanging floor. This is not the case on the garden side, where the streamlined lines of the cornices and glazed balcony balustrades dominate.

The building is shaped like a C-shape, with the arms encompassing the centrally located main terrace. Two further terraces, which extend beyond the perimeter of the building, provide space for a jacuzzi and a swimming pool. In this way, the residents can enjoy privacy and proximity to nature, while at the same time having direct access to the relaxation area.

On the garden side, the house is dominated by large glazings. This solution allows all the rooms to open up to the outside and visually connect them with the surrounding greenery and the meeting place, which the residents will appreciate especially on summer days.

We created a building in which the most important place is the living space located in the central part of the house. This is where the activities of all family members will concentrate. We shaped the building as a two-storey one, with a double strip of glazing, both under and above the terrace canopy,” says architect Marcin Klukowski.

The living room is also the keystone connecting the side wings of the house. One of them houses the parents’ bedroom with bathroom and dressing room, as well as the laundry room and garage; the other houses the children’s rooms with bathroom and dressing room and the playroom, which is a kind of glazed pavilion opening onto the garden for both adult and children’s activities.

An integral part of the living room, clearly separated from it, is the gallery on the first floor, from which we access the study and the living room and gym. The first floor is a separate zone where the daily life of the house does not take place. Householders go there for work or for physical activity.
