A Wes Anderson-style flat has been created on 80 square metres in the heart of Krakow. The owners, enthusiasts of modern art and film style, inspired by the aesthetics of Wes Anderson, decided that their home should be expressive, with a dominance of pastel shades, especially pink, a multitude of geometric shapes and unusual combinations. Every detail has been carefully thought out and chosen, from the terrazzo tiles to the worktops to the pots. Nothing is random in this interior, not even the coffee mugs, grinders and jugs.
The unusual layout of the kitchen, which is divided into two parts, immediately catches the eye. The classic kitchen island has been dispensed with in favour of a table and a projector mounted in the suspended ceiling. This ceiling has a double function: it conceals the unexpected structural reduction of the building and also houses the cassette with the drop-down screen for the projector. The strong pink is even present in the joints between the white tiles, giving the kitchen a unique character.
The owner, an aficionado of terrazzo, has ensured that this material is present in a variety of forms: from tiles to countertops to pots. Terrazzo, with its variety of patterns and colours, blends in perfectly with the pastel accents of the interior.
The designers did not forget about the four-legged household member. In the bathroom, there was a special cabinet with a litter tray and a small passage in the wall for the cat, allowing it to use the toilet freely. A washing machine and tumble dryer were located in the enclosure to the right. The second bathroom, on the other hand, was designed with a shower and a huge storage cupboard.
The bedroom, inspired by graphics of interpenetrating geometric shapes on a blue background, is a real oasis of peace and style. The original bed headrest and carefully selected accessories create a space that is relaxing yet expressive. The interior is intense, functional and full of unique solutions, which can be seen, among other things, in the unobvious steel pillars behind the TV and the arched mirror.
The flat in Krakow is a project that responds perfectly to the owners’ requirements. It is intense, functional and full of unique solutions, but at the same time cosy and conducive to relaxation. The interiors, full of references to vintage style and icons of Polish design, are a perfect example of harmony between modernity and classicism. This flat is sure to delight anyone who appreciates bold yet thoughtful arrangements.
