The ‘Living with Art’ series is an unusual series of exhibitions organised by Joanna Polus of Your Art Maison Gallery and architect Hanna Pietras. The project was inaugurated out of a passion for art and the belief that art is an integral part of everyday life, enriching space with depth and uniqueness. The events attract architects, interior designers, art collectors and design enthusiasts who are looking for new inspiration to create living spaces.
The ‘Living with Art’ series focuses on presenting three main trends: geometric abstraction, organic abstraction and figurative art in a variety of spaces. Through these diverse forms, the curators aim to show how art can blend with its surroundings, creating an atmosphere that is not only decorative but also full of emotional content. Through this series of exhibitions, the organisers show that art can become an integral part of both private and commercial interiors, going beyond the conventional idea of a gallery.
VOL. I – First Edition – Warsaw, 14-21.03.2024.
The ‘Living with Art’ series began on the initiative of Joanna Polus in Warsaw in the Pop Up space of YAM Gallery. It was a series of encounters with art in the gallery space combining works by collaborating artists and design from Nova Showroom. The exhibition featured well-known and emerging artists such as Marian Waldemar Kuczma, Robert Jaworski, Michał Minor, Paul Bik, Bogumił Książek, Kamila Kamińska, Maria Jagłowska, Aleksandra Szewczuk and others. The artists presented their works in a gallery space combining art and design.
VOL. II – Second Edition – Łódź, 27-29.06.2024.
The second edition took place in Łódź, in the atmospheric interior of a tenement house, in collaboration with architect Hanna Pietras. The exhibition occupied the space of a 125-square-metre flat, where art intertwined with design, filling every corner of the interior, from the living room to the bathroom. In Łódź, Mat Kubaj, Robert Jaworski, Anita Owsianna, Marianna Stuhr, Magdalena Bukowska, Pola Piestrzeniewicz, Agata Pałach-Bożek, Aleksandra Józefów and Dorota Nowicka, among others, presented their works, showing the diversity of contemporary Polish art.
VOL. III – Third Edition – Poznań, 11.10.2024. – 06.01.2025 r.
The next edition, ‘Life with Art vol. III’, took place in Poznań, in the unusual space of the Interior Gallery at 40 Głogowska Street, in collaboration with Agnieszka Przewoźna and APWP. This edition presented works by artists such as Robert Jaworski, Paul Bik, Anna Jankowicz, Sławomir Zięba, Ula Teperek, Tomasz Cichowski, Tomasz Górnicki, Philippe Rębosz and Mikołaj Apelt-Ciupiński. The works of art were incorporated into the interior design, demonstrating how art can coexist with interior spaces to create an atmosphere of harmony.
Plans for the Future
Your Art Maison Gallery has lived to see the moment when it opens its permanent exhibition space in the green Warsaw district of Mokotów. At 8 Biała flota street, the gallery will be a meeting place for art and art design. The operators want to create a HUB where art can be fitted into existing and designed spaces, but also connecting clients and architects with artists to communicate needs and create bespoke works of so-called bepsoke art.
