Mat Kubaj designed an office near Warsaw for Dax Cosmetics

The office of DAX Cosmetics in Duchnów near Warsaw has undergone a total transformation. The formerly outdated interiors, maintained in the aesthetics of the 1990s, have been transformed into a modern space with a gallery character. Raw concrete, white and metal form a background that emphasises the elegance and precision of the individual elements. The entire space has been designed by Mat Kubaj, with calm and concentration in mind, and the minimalist forms have been given an artistic dimension here.

Even the first steps into the DAX Cosmetics head office introduce a completely new atmosphere. The tiles and metal railings of the early 2000s have disappeared from the stairwell, replaced by concrete and geometric white buildings inspired by origami. Architectural precision and economy of means have created a space with a sculptural character. The focal point of this zone is a metal lamp by Mat Kubaj, realised together with Tomasz Matchez. The more than two-metre-long wall lamp in the form of a totem, made of etched metal, combines technicality and emotion. Mirrored bulbs multiply the light, creating reflections that enliven its austere structure. In the central area of the hall, the Luceplan Levante lamp designed by Marco Spatti is suspended. Its soft form corresponds with the striking wall lamp.

The motif of artistic metal, prepared by Matchez Studio, appears in many elements of the design. It can be seen in the sliding built-in under the stairs, in the cosmetics displays in the reception area and in the custom-made counter. This is complemented by Zen-style details such as the 1980s ceramic vase with a simple branch and the soft-light New Works Tense lamps suspended above the counter. The wall behind the reception desk also emits subtle light, only reinforcing the impression of purity and proportion.

In the lounge area, soft, edgy armchairs contrast with concrete and metal. The potted ficus is a natural accent, while a table designed by Piotr Kuchcinski and STOFF Nagel candlesticks create an atmosphere of calm elegance. On the first floor there is a glazed conference room, where the Ilum lamp designed by Maja Ganszyniec was placed. The same lighting model found its way into the chairman’s office, where one wall was left in its raw state. When the wallpaper was removed, it revealed layers of paint in various colours, a kind of vestige of the past that has become part of the modern interior.

The transformed DAX Cosmetics office near Warsaw is based on a dialogue between simplicity and imperfection. Raw materials form the backdrop for the work, while expressing the brand’s values based on quality and sensitivity. Minimalist architecture has been treated as an artistic form in which every detail has meaning. The result is a space full of tranquillity, where the everyday meets the aesthetics of contemporary beauty.
