Minimalism with soul: childhood-inspired furniture from Tozu Design

Tozu Design is an Istanbul-based design studio founded by interior designer Alperen Celep. The brand is distinguished by its unique approach to form, space and material – building its identity around sculptural, almost intuitive design that boldly pushes the boundaries of classical design.

One of the studio’s latest projects is CasaXXII – a home concept in which all the furnishings are designed by Tozu. However, this is not a typical interior – it is a space that happens around the furniture, not the other way around.

Tozu Design assumes that it is the form that sets the rhythm of the space – the furniture is the starting point here, not an accessory. The sculptural objects designed by Celep spontaneously shape the environment, imposing their own narrative and breaking down conventional walls – both physical and aesthetic.

The foundation of Tozu’s work is childhood – his shapes, his memories, his intuitive approach to space. These inspirations are not literal, but tangible – in the soft curves, in the balance between playfulness and functionality, in the nostalgic narrative of each project.

Tozu Design doesn’t just design furniture – it creates spaces of emotion. For those looking for non-obvious solutions and deeper meaning in interiors, Tozu becomes the answer – a contemporary language of forms that speaks the whisper of childhood and the shout of art.
