St. Moritz, one of the world’s most exclusive luxury destinations and a popular sports resort, has added a new wellness space. Thanks to the Lifestyle by The Great Living Estate project, a unique sauna immersed in the natural landscape has been created in the heart of the Swiss Alps, offering guests an unforgettable relaxation experience and beautiful views.
Harmony of nature and design in St. Moritz
The new sauna, the result of the vision of Manuel Tenca, CEO of Lifestyle by The Great Living Estate, is the perfect combination of modern design and unspoilt nature. Located in a picturesque park next to the renowned Murtaröl restaurant, it has been created as a place of absolute relaxation, where luxury meets harmonious surroundings. Michele Vitaloni Partners, considered the ‘tailor of design’, is responsible for the concept and artistic direction. His approach to architecture and design is based on simplicity and functionality, which take on an emotional character in this project. The aim was to create a space that melts with the landscape while offering an exclusive environment for relaxation.
A minimalist sauna in the service of luxury
The architects opted for an ascetic yet elegant form that blends in with the surrounding nature. The cuboidal structure is made of Infinity Brown quartzite from Brazil. The monolithic nature of the building is broken up by large glazings that open up the interior to the surroundings and provide panoramic views of the alpine landscape. Thanks to the large glazings of 200 square metres, natural light dynamically models the interiors, while the transparency of the glass allows the interior and exterior spaces to blend seamlessly.
“We have created a space where design, art and luxury coexist in perfect balance. Every detail is designed to evoke emotion,” – says Michele Vitaloni.
Elegant interiors and luxurious sauna equipment
The entrance to the sauna leads through an elegant black portal, behind which lies a spacious interior. A stylish lounge area equipped with exclusive Baxter furniture awaits guests, which harmoniously interacts with the custom elements designed by antoniolupi. Inside, there is a spacious cloakroom, as well as a relaxation area with six comfortable seats set right against a glass wall. Their comfort is ensured by Paesaggi Sospesi tables from antoniolupi. The focal point of this luxurious space is the Effegibi sauna, offering the highest standard of relaxation.
