Ruciane-Nida will soon have a new icon – a modern marina, which will become the largest marina in this part of Mazury. The project is being realised according to the winning concept of Restudio Jacaszek Architekci office, awarded in the SARP competition for the development of the shores of Lake Guzianka Wielka. The jury appreciated the clarity and attractiveness of the urban composition and its harmonious integration into the landscape and historical heritage of the place. The marina in Ruciane-Nida will offer a wide range of facilities and spaces adapted to the needs of sailors and tourists.
Ruciane-Nida marina: thoughtful integration into the surroundings
The new marina is not only a harbour, but also a complex of buildings with recreational, hotel and catering functions. The buildings have been designed in the spirit of so-called hidden architecture – their form adapts to the natural shape of the terrain, and the green roofs seamlessly merge with the surrounding park, also serving as viewing terraces. In this way, the marina is not a visual barrier, but becomes an integral part of the landscape.
An ecological approach to design
The design emphasises ecological solutions and environmental protection. Soil from the harbour basin excavation has been used for landscaping, creating green hills. In addition, a water cascade has been designed, which serves not only a recreational function, but also aerates and purifies the water in the lake. The whole complex is intended to be a public space that encourages activity and recreation.
New marina in Masuria – functional programme
The marina in Ruciane-Nida will offer a wide range of facilities and spaces tailored to the needs of sailors and tourists. The 100,000 square metre area will include a harbour capable of accommodating as many as 160 yachts, making it one of the largest facilities of its kind in the region. The functionality of the marina will be supported by as many as seven buildings serving both the harbour infrastructure and recreational areas. In addition, a public parking area hidden under the main square is planned for the complex. Three bridges will cross the lake, allowing easy communication between the different parts of the marina.
An important element is also the unique square on the water, equipped with a floating stage, ideal for cultural events and concerts. The project blends harmoniously into the natural landscape with extensive green areas including a park, gardens and water cascades. Walkers and nature lovers will be able to use educational footbridges and viewing terraces that will provide beautiful panoramas of the lake and surrounding forests. In addition, the complex will offer numerous sporting activities, including playing fields and playgrounds, creating a space that is friendly for both adults and children.
Marina in Ruciane-Nida: the future of the Masurian marina
The planned marina has a chance to become not only a sailing centre, but also a new symbol of Ruciane-Nida. Combining functionality, attention to the historical context and an ecological approach to design, the investment sets a new standard for public spaces on Polish lakes. The first phase of the project is already underway, and subsequent phases will bring the city closer to achieving a modern and friendly recreational space.
