Modern Minimalism in the heart of Bydgoszcz. We take a look at the Pikseo office

The office design of marketing agency Pikseo is an example of how contemporary architecture can combine the aesthetics of modern minimalism with a friendly, natural atmosphere. The work space created is not only a functional meeting place, but also an inspiring environment that supports the creativity and well-being of its users. The new office was created by merging two separate ones into one. Designers Aleksandra Mętlewicz and Aleksandra Hyz consciously used some of the existing elements, which look very good in the new arrangement.

The interior design is maintained in the spirit of modern minimalism, harmoniously enriched with soothing wooden elements and greenery. Geometric forms, soft furniture upholstery and the use of natural materials create a space that, despite its minimalist form, does not lose its character and colour. The designers were inspired by the contemporary offices of technology companies and the philosophy of ‘well-being design’, i.e. designing with the well-being of the users in mind, which gives the interior a cosy, homely feel without sacrificing modern aesthetics. The investor had clear requirements – the office was to become a space that supports creativity, while also offering spaces for tranquillity and regeneration. The dream was to create a beautiful, comfortable and inspiring office in the city. It succeeded.

Pikseo’s office is located in a modern building in the very centre of Bydgoszcz. Large glazed windows allow the historic buildings of the city to be admired, which is an interesting contrast to the modern interior solutions. The historic nature of the surroundings adds a unique dimension to the space, combining the past and the future in one dynamic place.

Functional layout

The interior of the office has been carefully divided into several functional zones, adapted to the diverse needs of the employees. In addition to the open office space, meeting rooms, chillout areas, a kitchen with dining area, a gaming room and smaller rooms conducive to concentration were designed. A particular challenge was the commercial office area, where exceptional acoustic conditions had to be provided for work requiring loud conversations. To deal with the poor acoustics – due in part to the concrete ceiling and large glazed areas – the architects used acoustic panels, soft furnishings and curtains. In addition, the use of decorative wood along the passageways connected the two previously separate offices, giving the whole a coherent, unified atmosphere.

Colour scheme and furnishings

Nature-inspired shades are the dominant colour palette. Earthy, wooden, navy blue, green, mint, beige and powder pink hues introduce an atmosphere of calm and balance, while at the same time giving the interior a trendy, modern character. Such a colour scheme not only emphasises the minimalist aesthetic of the space, but also provides a subtle backdrop for more expressive accents and furnishing details.

Carefully selected furniture and details played an important role in shaping the character of the office. Reliable office furniture by Balma provided a solid basis for the project, complemented by modular MDD sofas, timeless Noti furniture and ergonomically designed Profim chairs. Acustio acoustic panels significantly improved working comfort while giving the space a distinctly modern touch. Many of the furnishings were custom-made to a design by Aleksandra Mętlewicz and Aleksandra Hyz.

The Pikseo agency’s office design is an example of a space that harmoniously combines modern minimalism and biophilic design style. Thanks to a well-thought-out division of zones, excellent acoustic solutions and warm, natural colours, the interior not only meets the needs of the users, but also inspires creative work. The investor received a place that combines functionality with unique design, and the historical context of Bydgoszcz adds a unique character to the whole.
