The building was designed by Katarzyna Buczkowska-Grobecka of Ktura Architekci. The house was built in Poznań.
The Open House is an example of simple, timeless residential architecture. The house is located on a green plot in Poznań and has an area of 250 square metres. The biggest advantage is the location. The proximity to fields and forests and the spacious neighbouring plots, which allows the residents to maintain a sense of privacy.
The name of the building is not accidental. The Open House is a space with large openings and a very strongly defined division of zones. The architect wanted the zones to be visible without having to analyse the floor plan. The house is compact and functional, and has been tailored to the needs of the occupants.
In architecture, proportion is very important to me. The open house boasts it on all sides,” says Katarzyna Buczkowska-Grobecka.
The first design of the building was slightly different. It assumed a different colouring of the elevation. The target elevation was made of fibre-cement panels in cool shades of white and graphite. This arrangement will appeal to fans of minimalism.
In the interior, on the other hand, the house is filled with natural wood. Its colour visually warms the space and creates a cosy atmosphere.
