A mural has appeared on the wall of a residential building at 16 Wróblewskiego Street in Szczecin. The abstract work was designed and executed by the artist Seikon.
Seikon produced a total of two murals. Their creation is linked to the occasion of Freedom Gallery’s five-year anniversary as part of the City of Szczecin’s Cultural Patronage “Partnership Programme for Culture”. The first mural, POGODNO, which can be seen here in the photographs, was created at 16 Wróblewskiego Street. The second, POMORZANY, decorated the building at 18 Chmielewskiego Street.
The author of the works is Robert SEIKON. He is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. The artist has been active in the art world and has been exhibiting his works since 1999. His works can be found in all important publications on street art in Poland. He works in painting, murals and sculptural installations.
The new murals in Szczecin are an example of his aesthetics. Seikon specialises in creating unique geometric shapes that transform a variety of surfaces using colour and distinct patterns. The artist has been involved with the Rurales project for several years. Seikon lives and works in Greece.
Interestingly, Seikon visited Szczecin for the first time in his life. The result of his stay is a 10x10m mural. The work is partially obscured by a tree. In winter, however, when the leaves fall, it will be a colourful landmark.
Financial support for the mural was provided by the Cultural Patronage of the City of Szczecin and OFF MARINA – Przystań Kultury.
