In the centre of Wisła, a mural entitled ‘Wisła Home for World Cultures’ was created. Its author is Mgr Mors, and over a thousand people, including residents, visitors and participants in the Beskid Culture Week, were involved in creating the painting. The work adorns the wall of the building at 67 1 Maja Street, right next to the promenade. The new mural in Wisła depicts two figures in folk costumes.
New mural in Wisła in the rhythm of Beskid Culture
The project was carried out during the 62nd edition of the Beskid Culture Week, one of the most important folklore events in the region. Participants had the opportunity to contribute to the creation of the mural themselves by applying coloured circles and dots to the wall. In this way, a composition with a community character was created in which everyone could leave their mark. Before starting work, participants signed in a commemorative book and then took part in a short training session on how to use the spray paint. Afterwards, they proceeded to paint in a designated area and an assigned colour. Exactly 1,075 people took part and were also accompanied by three dogs.

New mural in Wisła as a symbol of openness and diversity
The mural was created using the graffiti technique with spray paint. Its first part depicts highlander Paweł Cieślar in traditional Wisła costume. The second was painted during the event and refers to the meeting of cultures from different parts of the world that come to Wisła every year during the Beskid Culture Week. The central figure of this section is Fernanda Nayeli Jaras Guerrero from Mexico, appearing in the regional costume of her country. The artwork is intended to serve as a reminder of Wisła’s openness to people from all corners of the world, as well as the importance of cooperation between residents, tourists and artists. Each circle on the wall symbolises an individual contribution to the creation of a shared space.
Additional realisations by Mors
As part of the project, Mgr Mors has also produced two prints on the ski tracks in the Jonidło district. All works are linked by the motif of cooperation and local identity, which occupy a special place in the artist’s work.
