nowa szkoła w Poznaniu

New school in Poznań. The building was constructed for more than 1,000 pupils

The construction of a new primary school together with a kindergarten has been completed in Poznan’s Strzeszyn. From 1 September, pupils and kindergarten pupils will start classes here in the 2025/26 school year. The building was constructed on Rostworowskiego Street, and new access roads were constructed along with it. The investment was carried out by the company Poznańskie Inwestycje Miejskie and the general contractor was Mostostal Warszawa. The new school in Poznań will serve more than 1,000 pupils.

The northern districts of Poznań have been expanding intensively in recent years. New housing estates are being followed by educational facilities. The city has built a school in Umultow, expanded the existing facility in Podolany and carried out investments in kindergartens on Biskupinska and Hlaska streets. Strzeszyn has become another location where an educational complex consisting of a primary school and a kindergarten has been built. This is currently the largest educational investment in Poznań, providing learning conditions for more than a thousand pupils.

The building houses Kindergarten No. 201, which will eventually have 8 departments, and Primary School No. 99, planned for 32 two departments. The building has been constructed according to schedule and is ready to receive children from September. As part of the investment, new streets, pavements and cycle paths have also been built, and a bus stop has been designated at the junction with Koszalińska Street.

From a bird’s eye view, the new school resembles a Y. This solution has allowed for a clear separation of spaces for the different age groups. One wing houses the kindergarten with a separate entrance, while the other two wings contain classrooms for grades 1-3 and 4-8. All parts of the building come together in a central integration zone with a large hall and gymnasium. The canteen, library, common room, as well as administrative and technical rooms are also located in this area.

The building has three storeys and a partial basement, where changing rooms and technical facilities are located. The total usable area of the building exceeds 10,000 square metres. The area around the school has also been carefully landscaped. Sports pitches have been created, including a full-size football pitch surrounded by a running track and two smaller ones. Playgrounds for kindergarten children and pupils were built, as well as bicycle sheds equipped with photovoltaic panels. Parking spaces, alleys, lighting and landscaping have been added to the site.

The investment also included the construction of roads in the area of Fieldorfa, Rostworowskiego and Karski Streets. Fieldorfa Street was given a new footprint from Mikkego Street to the junction with Rostworowskiego, where a roundabout was built. The traffic system has also been modernised with pedestrians and cyclists in mind. The new school in Poznań is to serve as both an educational facility and a centre for the local community. The gymnasium and playing fields will be available to residents after school. The building will also house a branch of the Raczynski Library, which will operate as an independent unit.
