A chance meeting years later led Roland Stańczyk, an architect known for his classic flats, to tackle modern styling. He designed a two-storey penthouse in which independent spaces for two generations of a family coexist harmoniously, while the spectacular panorama of Warsaw complements the elegant interior design.
Two levels – flat layout
Magdalena and Tomasz, after years of living on the outskirts of Warsaw, decided to move to the centre. Their choice fell on an apartment building overlooking Krasińskich Square. The flat’s two-level layout provided comfort for both the owners and Magdalena’s father, for whom a separate mini-apartment was set aside. They entrusted the interior design to architect Roland Stańczyk, whom Magda knew from her school years.
Customised furnishings and other amenities
Most of the furniture was individually designed to make maximum use of the space. Wirchomski Manufaktura, chosen for the built-ins, ensured precise workmanship and advanced functional solutions. The flat features state-of-the-art Wever & Ducré lighting and a Fibaro intelligent control system, operated by phone or tablet.
Two-storey penthouse – kitchen and living room
A distinctive interior feature is the curved oak pillar by the staircase. The minimalist kitchen design, with a clearance over the hob, harmonises with the spacious living room, which opens up to the city skyline thanks to huge glazing. Work is currently underway on the conservatory, which will increase the functionality of the terrace.
Division of private spaces
The owners’ bedroom has a large corner window and an elegant built-in dressing table. The dressing room, hidden behind a wall, also houses a utility area with washing machine and dryer. The bathroom, inspired by hotel style, provides full comfort and functionality. A suite for Magdalena’s father was created on the lower level. It was designed along the lines of a luxury hotel room, with a kitchenette and spacious dressing room. A desk by the corner window provides a comfortable place to work, and display cabinets will soon be used to showcase sports trophies. Roland Stańczyk’s design combines elegance with maximum use of space. Minimalism intertwines here with the warmth of natural materials, creating an interior perfectly suited to the needs of the residents.
