Nowadays, a well-designed interior is much more than just an aesthetically pleasing layout. It is the art of combining functionality, ergonomics and the comfort of everyday life. PEKA, a brand specialising in storage solutions, is launching a competition and setting interior designers a unique challenge: to create original concepts for a kitchen or wardrobe in which every item has its place. The winners of the “PEKA Dobrze Poukładane” competition will receive a prize fund totalling 16,000 zlotys and coverage in influential industry media.
Contemporary design increasingly focuses not only on aesthetics, but also on the organisation of everyday life. Functionality, ergonomics and the skilful use of available space are now among the most important hallmarks of a well-designed interior. It is precisely this idea of consciously organising space that has become the starting point for the “PEKA Dobrze Poukładane” competition, aimed at architects and interior designers. The competition brief is simple: to create a space in which every element has its place, and where the solutions employed genuinely enhance the comfort of everyday use.
The competition is organised by PEKA, a brand specialising in systems that support the functional organisation of the home – from solutions for wardrobes, drawers and tricky kitchen corners, to systems designed specifically for walk-in wardrobes. The competition was announced on 21 July during the ‘Cinema and Architecture’ event at the Kinoteka in Warsaw.
Competition entrants may submit their designs in two categories: kitchen and walk-in wardrobe. In both cases, the task is to create a functional and well-thought-out space using at least three PEKA solutions.
- In the kitchen category, the jury will assess designs that incorporate solutions addressing users’ everyday needs – ranging from tall units to kitchen cupboards and columns, through under-worktop solutions that maximise the use of available space, right through to corner systems that help make the most of awkward spaces. Well-thought-out details, such as drawer organisers, non-slip mats or solutions supporting waste sorting, will be an added bonus.
- The second category – the walk-in wardrobe – focuses on designing organised and comfortable storage spaces. Participants should make use of solutions from the CONERO range, designed specifically for organising drawers and bedroom-wardrobe areas. Designs may be complemented by additional PEKA elements, such as runners, organisers or internal accessories, which will emphasise the functional nature of the layout.
Entries submitted to the competition will be judged by a jury comprising experts from the worlds of interior design, the media and the home furnishings industry. Its members include, amongst others, Anna Chwalińska, editor-in-chief of *Elle Decoration* magazine; Anna Grużewska, editor-in-chief of *Czas na Wnętrze* magazine; as well as architects and designers: Aldona Banasiuk, Jacek Tryc, Agnieszka Musiał from Musiał Studio, Iga Sawicka from SAAN Architects, Mariola Rysik from Studio Rysik, Adam Budzyński, CEO of Decoroom, Jonatan Kilczewski from Jonatan’s Studio, and Katarzyna Orwat from Orwat Design. The jury is completed by Agata Baca, editor and publisher of the Weranda.pl website, and Anita Łopatka, representing the PEKA brand, who will assess the designs in terms of their application and knowledge of the brand’s solutions.

The competition winners can look forward not only to cash prizes but also to the opportunity to present their designs to a wide audience. First place will receive 8,000 zł net and an interview published in *Elle Decoration* magazine; second place – 5,000 zł net and a feature in *Czas na Wnętrze*; and for third place – 3,000 zł net and a presentation of the project in *WhiteMAD*. In addition, two honourable mentions will be awarded, with the winners receiving the opportunity to have their interviews published online on the Weranda.pl website.
Entries for the competition can be submitted from 21 July to 30 September 2026. The jury will deliberate on 9 October, whilst the results will be announced on 21 October during the Warsaw Home trade fair.
