Pizzeria Olio in Poznań. New premises in the city centre

Its interior was designed by Iwona Wilkosz, who runs the I włala design studio. Pizzeria Olio is located at 8A Masztalarska Street in Poznań. The colourful interior is intended to emphasise the taste of the dishes served there. What distinguishes this space?

The restaurant is the next instalment of the Olio pizzeria chain. It is an interior that breaks with classic Italian décor, offering its own distinctive aesthetic language. Here, every detail – from the shape of the lamp to the colour of the wall – works together to bring the guest into an atmosphere of freedom and cosiness.

The interior design is based on a subtle dialogue between soft forms and geometric rhythm. Ornaments associated with Naples have been dispensed with, opting instead for a contemporary interpretation of Mediterranean looseness. Powdery shades of pink and blue lend the interior a feminine and light touch, while at the same time matching the character of an establishment full of good energy.

Materials and textures

The floor is tiled with terrazzo in a varied, irregular pattern that enlivens the space and makes every passage a pleasant discovery. The furniture and wall finishes are made of natural plywood, whose warm hue contrasts with the coolness of the pastel tone. The woven lamps hanging over the tables diffuse light into a soft glow, while the floral installations bring a touch of organic freshness to the interior.

Colour and light design

Delicate arches, subtly curved over the bar and seating areas, give the room a fluidity of forms. Neon lights sunk in the background add energy to the interior, balancing modern design with a cosy atmosphere. Accent lighting works in tandem with the pastels to create a setting in which each element gets its own story.

The focal point of the arrangement became a long, double-sided sofa, dividing the premises into two clear zones. Its lines correspond to the rhythm of the monumental pillars of the tenement, which served the designer as inspiration for the geometric divisions of the ceiling coffers. This gives the interior a coherent and clear layout, encouraging guests to participate freely in the culinary journey.

Creative process and collaboration

The designer emphasises that the key to creating the interior was to listen carefully to the needs of the brand owner. Clearly formulated expectations and openness to experimentation made it possible to create a space that was authentic and full of character. This is the project from which the design team’s adventure with Olio interiors began – which is why the interior of the Poznan pizzeria has a special, sentimental dimension for the authors.
