Porcelain and croissant-shaped chairs – Café Sunday in Poznan

Julia and Jan have created a place that they say they themselves would like to go to. The theme of the Sunday café was excellence – both in the coffee and food, and in the interior design. The café is accompanied by a children’s playroom.

Sunday is located at Poznanska 1/35 in Poznan’s Jezyce district – the gastronomic mecca of the city. The premises at 1 Poznańska Street welcome guests with a large display window filled with speciality coffee packs and luscious pastel colours, including NODI studio’s characteristic porcelain lamps and crockery.

The design of the 160 m2 café and playroom was created by the CUDO studio in Wrocław. The refined space is also thanks to the owners – We love beautiful interiors and always pay attention to unique accents. We love beautiful interiors and always pay attention to unique accents. You will find porcelain lamps from the talented Ania from NODI.studio, as well as designer chairs in the shape of croissants from the Polish brand The Good Living & Co, ” says Julia.

The creators of Sunday wanted the design to include a lot of curves and bends, which give softness and are pleasing to the eye, as well as mirrors that optically enlarge the space. The interior had to form a coherent whole. They spent a long time looking for a space that would fit their idea, and finally succeeded. They created a place that is coherent and at the same time ideally divided into two zones in a similar Scandinavian style: a café and a playroom for children. The founders also took care to provide soundproofing and a good sound system in the premises.

Julia, as a young mum, felt the need to create something more than a simple playroom: I wanted a place for mums to meet up with their friends, have a delicious breakfast, enjoy a coffee in beautiful surroundings and at the same time have the peace of mind that their child is being taken care of and doing creative things during this time. What sets their playroom apart is that there are experienced entertainers on site every day from 8am to 8pm to look after the little ones.

On the other hand, Jan, Julia’s husband and also the other half of Sunday, is fixated on coffee. That is why perfectly selected beans, a special water filtration system and the heart of the café – a custom-made coffee machine in the colour of the premises – were very important to him. The black beverage can be enjoyed here in colourful NODI.studio mugs – coffee in fine porcelain in a modern form tastes best.

The founders say: ” We wanted everyone to feel at home with us – SUNDAY is like a lazy family Sunday, with a good breakfast, delicious coffee and games for the little ones. Positive energy and the power to get things done!

Don’t let the editor’s profile picture fool you. Nobody hacked our page! The LEGO brand encouraged us to celebrate Children’s Day in a unique way. We changed the profile pictures of our editors, taking us back to the blissful time of childhood 😊. The cursor in the desktop version, which turned into a LEGO block for a few days, is also a variety. This version of the website will accompany us until 1 June. This year, on the occasion of Children’s Day, the LEGO brand prepared a special action with the Slowhop platform, as part of which it filled 21 houses across Poland with LEGO bricks sets and gave those willing to participate the opportunity to spend a weekend of creative play in them. We wrote more about this action HERE and HERE.

PS and if you are looking for an idea for a LEGO set for creative play then check out our suggestions HERE. These are good gift ideas, not just for Children’s Day!
