Poznań: two townhouses in Wilda undergo major renovation

The Board of Communal Housing Resources in Poznań (ZKZL) is continuing its mission to renovate urban properties. This time, two townhouses in Wilda, located on Fabryczna Street, will undergo modernisation. Thanks to comprehensive renovation work, the neighbouring buildings will regain their historical beauty and become more functional for residents.

Both townhouses on Fabryczna Street have a rich history dating back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The older of the buildings, located at 2 Fabryczna Street, was built in 1890, making it one of the oldest elements of the street’s development. In contrast, the neighbouring building at 2A Fabryczna was built in 1905. Significantly, this younger building is located in an area under conservation protection as part of an urban and architectural ensemble listed in the register of monuments. Thanks to the planned works, residents and passers-by will once again be able to admire their unique character.

The modernisation works will include a comprehensive renovation of the façade, which will contribute not only to improving the aesthetics of the buildings, but also their energy efficiency. This will include insulation of the walls, as well as the renovation or replacement of window and door joinery, preserving the original divisions and details. In addition, the structure of the buildings will be strengthened and the roofs will be extensively repaired. The Board of Communal Housing Resources will also take care of the space around the tenements. The works will include tidying up the courtyard areas, planting vegetation and installing small architecture objects. The electrical installation in the buildings will also be replaced, which will improve the safety and functionality of the flats.

Renovation work has already begun and is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2026. The total cost of the investment is PLN 3.5 million. The actions taken by ZKZL are another step in the process of renovating the city’s housing stock, which not only raises the living standards of residents, but also affects the aesthetics and attractiveness of the entire district.
