When design meets modern technology, magic happens! Logitech has released the MX Master 4 mouse, which is a dream come true for those working in creative professions. It’s the first MX mouse with haptic technology to boost productivity and improve comfort. What are its biggest pluses? In our editorial work, the mouse has accompanied us for several days.
The Logitech MX Master 4 is the latest iteration of the iconic MX series mouse. The biggest novelty is the enhanced capabilities with haptic feedback and Actions Ring software. The mouse will vibrate in a specific situation and the Actions Ring software makes tasks easier with shortcuts. It’s a mouse designed for graphic designers, programmers and people working on several applications at once, but anyone with even the simplest of computer tasks will appreciate its benefits.
Design and ergonomics
I didn’t think the touch of a mouse could be soothing and give a pleasant feeling. Logitech designers have carefully considered the shape of the hand, creating a device that fits it perfectly. On the plus side, the material used to make the mouse is also good – even after a few days of use, its surface remains clean and hardly catches stains. An impression of solidity is also created by the aluminium roller with grooves that facilitate precise work.
What I particularly like about well-designed devices are the solutions that don’t seem to matter at first glance. However, the designers of the MX Master 4 tried to anticipate every detail, so they equipped the mouse with quiet clicks. Despite their considerable size, the buttons generate only a gentle clicking sound. This dramatically reduces noise and works well for work that requires concentration. If only all the mice in our editorial team were so quiet!
Wow. She vibrates!
For years, console pads have featured vibrating motors to enhance the gaming experience. Why has Logitech’s new mouse been equipped with one? It turns out there are good reasons. The haptic motor is embedded under the left side of the device, just below the thumb. The mouse generates a subtle vibration during selected actions and provides a form of notification. When working on multiple screens, the mouse can gently vibrate when the cursor moves from one screen to another, or notify us when the computer has finished rendering. The haptics of the device create a whole new range of possibilities. By vibrating, you can save time and reduce the risk of errors while working. This small feature increases awareness, gives you a sense of control and improves precision when making delicate adjustments in graphics programmes, for example.

Tailored to your needs
When buying a mouse, it’s essential to install the Logi Options application . The software gives you the opportunity to unleash the full capabilities of the MX Master 4. One example is the Actions Ring, a digital overlay that can be instantly activated with a button under the thumb. When it is activated, a contextual shortcut wheel is displayed, giving instant access to eight personalised commands. Other commands appear when running Actions Ring in Lightroom, Photoshop or Final Cut, while others appear, for example, in a web browser. With this solution, even taking a screenshot becomes simpler, without having to press several keys at once.
Configuration in Logi Options allows you to place key combinations, system functions, applications or scripts under each shortcut. The programme itself will suggest which shortcuts we may need. It will analyse the programmes installed on the computer and allow you to download ready-made shortcut packs.
You may be thinking: this is a load of rubbish. Not at all! In practice, Actions Ring reduces the number of repetitive mouse and keyboard movements, turning everyday work with a set of small, tedious gestures into just a few clicks.
A small, big thing!
Precise movements are easier to take care of with two rollers. The first vertical one is located at the front of the mouse and allows vertical scrolling of content. The second is placed next to the thumb and allows horizontal scrolling. With these, it’s easy for a graphic designer or video editor to hit the right pixel.

Comfortable working
The MX Master 4 connects easily to your device via Bluetooth or with a USB-C dongle. The device allows seamless pairing with three devices simultaneously and lets you switch between desktop, laptop and tablet instantly. A pleasant surprise is the speed of charging the mouse via USB-C. Just one minute of charging provides several hours of stable operation, and a quarter of an hour is enough for several days of use. A fully charged one, on the other hand, is expected to allow more than two months of continuous use.
The mouse is available in graphite and light grey for PC users, and white/silver and black for those working on Apple hardware. Interestingly, the MX Master 4 is almost half made from recycled plastic and the batteries contain 100 per cent recycled cobalt. Importantly, when you buy the device you get a free month’s subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud with apps such as Photoshop, Lightroom and Premiere Pro.
The Logitech MX Master 4 is a tool created for informed users who, by taking a few minutes to set up, will save up to hours in completing daily tasks. Vibration and access to shortcuts under the thumb, create a new way of interacting with the computer, more aware, fast and precise. I’m on YES!
