Radom East. New stop will make it easier to get to the airport

The final work is being carried out on the construction of the Radom East railway stop, which will make it easier to reach the Warsaw-Radom Airport from 30 June. On that day, the railways will integrate the stop into the transport network. According to plans, 50 trains of the Mazovian Railway will stop here, and the journey to and from West Warsaw is expected to take one hour.

The stop was built over a period of 1.5 years, using materials such as steel and glass to create a modern space for passengers. The PLN 39 million investment, financed from budgetary funds, is awaiting final administrative approvals that will enable the facility to be fully commissioned. Key works have been completed as part of the project – the platform and glass gallery have been completed, and two lifts and escalators have been installed.

Connection to the airport

One of the most important assets of the station is its strategic connection to the Warsaw-Radom Airport. Thanks to this, the inhabitants of Radom, and above all those from the Dzierzków and Śródmieście districts, will gain fast and convenient access not only to the local transport network, but also to the capital. The fastest Mazovian Rail service between Radom East and Warsaw West is expected to take just one hour.

There are shelters, benches, handrails for resting while waiting and electronic displays and showcases with timetables. In addition, bicycle racks have been placed at the entrances. The stop has also been given night-time lighting.

The track layout and turnouts at the Radom Wschodni stop were designed to allow trains from Warsaw and Dęblin to stop. However, when preparing the June timetable revision, the railwaymen found that due to the high volume of traffic – not only passenger, but also long-distance PKP Intercity services and freight traffic – it was necessary to exclude trains running on the Radom-Dęblin line from the Radom Wschodni stop. However, a review of the annual timetable is planned by the authorities and the operator of the Mazovian Railway, which may in future extend the possibility for all regional and long-distance services to stop at the Radom Wschodni stop.

Don’t let the editor’s profile picture fool you. Nobody hacked our website! The LEGO brand encouraged us to celebrate Children’s Day in a unique way. We changed the profile pictures of our editors, taking us back to the blissful time of childhood 😊. The cursor in the desktop version, which turned into a LEGO block for a few days, is also a variety. This version of the website will accompany us until 1 June. This year, on the occasion of Children’s Day, the LEGO brand prepared a special action with the Slowhop platform, as part of which it filled 21 houses across Poland with LEGO bricks sets and gave those willing to participate the opportunity to spend a weekend of creative play in them. We wrote more about this action HERE and HERE.

PS and if you are looking for an idea for a LEGO set for creative play then check out our suggestions HERE. These are good gift ideas, not just for Children’s Day!
