The tenement house at 27 Toruńska Street in Gdańsk, located in the Lower Town, has regained its former glory thanks to a comprehensive renovation carried out under the Integrated Territorial Investments programme. The building, which was erected at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, underwent thorough modernisation, and the investment was carried out by Gdańskie Nieruchomości. Renovation work began in August 2022 and was completed in December 2024.
The refurbishment included a series of measures to restore the tenement to its original condition, while adapting it to modern needs. Three council flats have been created in the building, equipped with basic appliances and fully finished bathrooms, while the ground floor has been arranged as a commercial space for local businesses to rent out. State-of-the-art technology has been used, including a Building Management System to monitor energy and utility consumption.

The renovation work included thorough conservation of the façade, repair and restoration of architectural details, as well as renovation of windows and doors. Inside the building, a wide range of works were also carried out, including the modernisation of installations, structural reinforcement and finishing and insulation works, which helped to increase the living comfort of future residents. The historic woodwork in the flats was also restored and the preserved sash with its frame was exposed as an ornament to the common area.
In addition, the tenement has been equipped with ecological solutions, such as a photovoltaic installation, which contributes to the building’s energy efficiency. The total cost of the investment was more than PLN 4.5 million. The historic building on Toruńska Street shines as it did years ago and has joined the ranks of other renovated tenement houses under the Integrated Territorial Investments programme, carried out by Gdańskie Nieruchomości.
