After dark, the garden takes on a life of its own. The path guides the eye, the tree canopy takes on a sense of depth, and the terrace becomes the setting for an evening gathering. AQForm is expanding its range of outdoor luminaires with the KYO 24V and DART 24V, featuring a warmer 2200K light and a Corten finish – giving interior designers and landscape architects new tools to direct this evening scene.
The KYO 24V provides soft lighting along paths, on terraces and in relaxation areas, whilst the DART 24V allows for the precise accentuation of vegetation and architectural details. Both luminaires can be used individually or combined as part of an outdoor low-voltage system. The entire outdoor range is further complemented by a colour temperature of 2200K and a Corten finish.
Soft light for your immediate surroundings
The KYO 24V is an outdoor post-mounted luminaire with a hemispherical diffuser that shields the light source. The downward-directed light output gently illuminates the immediate surroundings and minimises glare. The luminaire is ideal for use along paths, at entrances, on terraces and patios, amongst low-growing vegetation, and in areas designated for relaxation.
The KYO 24V is available in three heights: 400, 600 and 800 mm. The shorter versions can be used alongside flowerbeds and low vegetation, whilst the taller versions are suitable for main paths, entrances and larger relaxation areas. The available ground spike accessory allows for installation directly into the ground, making it easier to position the luminaires amongst greenery, along paths and around terraces.
Precision for landscaping and architecture
Where KYO illuminates the surroundings, DART 24V highlights and emphasises details. It is an outdoor spotlight designed for accent lighting. Its narrow beam allows you to highlight the silhouette of a tree, the shape of a sculpture, the texture of a stone wall, a decorative planter or a section of a façade.
The luminaire is available with a spigot in three heights: 120, 380 and 1000 mm. This makes it easier to select the right variant for the scale of the element being illuminated, from lower plantings to trees and taller architectural features. The movable head and wide range of adjustment mean that the direction of the light can be adjusted even after installation, should the vegetation grow or the layout of the garden change. In the two higher-spec variants, an additional DART engine head can be fitted, allowing two objects to be illuminated using a single luminaire.
Warm light, safety and a rust-coloured accent
The KYO 24V and DART 24V can be used independently or combined as part of an external 24V system. This system includes luminaires, power supplies, cables and connectors, allowing the lighting to be arranged in accordance with the layout of the site and the function of individual zones. Low voltage means greater safety, which is particularly important in areas also used by children and pets. Installing the system is simpler and less time-consuming. The system can also be expanded later with additional luminaires or their layout can be changed, for example after planting new plants, building a pergola or changing the way the terrace or patio is used.
The expansion of the AQForm range also includes two features that enhance the atmosphere after dark and the appearance of the luminaires during the day.
Almost the entire AQForm outdoor range is now available in a 2200K colour temperature version. Such warm light is reminiscent of a candle flame or the setting sun. This colour of light does more than just create an intimate atmosphere around a table or under a pergola. Light with a colour temperature of 2200K contains less blue light, which may help to reduce the attraction of insects and minimise the impact of lighting on certain nocturnal wildlife. This is particularly important in projects situated near green spaces, bodies of water and natural habitats. The Corten finish, in turn, introduces a rusty, raw hue that blends well with wood, brick, architectural concrete and metal, allowing a consistent colour scheme to be maintained around the entire building.

In the garden, on the terrace or around the building, it is not just about visibility after dark, but also about deciding what is to be illuminated and emphasised, and by what means. The KYO 24V, DART 24V, the 2200K variant and Corten offer architects more possibilities for shaping a cohesive character for outdoor spaces.
