Scandinavian architecture at Lake Meadow. It is a space for recreation

A space for recreation was designed in the village of Łąkie in the commune of Lipka in the district of Złotów. The recreation-friendly structure was designed by Agnieszka Chudy of the ArchPoint studio. The building, like a large piece of outdoor furniture, is intended to make relaxing by the water more attractive.

The architect designed an object with a broken form, which symbolises the appearance of the lake shore. The meadow is characterised by the great diversity of the terrain; here you are constantly driving either uphill or downhill. Prior to the fieldwork, a scale model was made. All the lengths of the wooden parts of the structure, their connections and gradients were perfected.

The designed structure may bring to mind modernist architecture in Scandinavia. The architect has designed a modest, simple building with a uniform larch wood façade. Its colour will change with the seasons and the weather. The structure is like a sculpture embedded in the landscape.

Inside you will find a sauna, storage for water equipment, a gazebo and toilets. The external structure itself has made it possible to create an area for an audience with seating.

The recreation space was created with the region’s residents and tourists in mind. The facility should also appeal to anglers or travellers. The architect points out that the building is conducive to relaxation and can be a venue for team-building and nature meetings.

It is also planned to create a fully equipped camping area with parking spaces, necessary buildings and infrastructure,” concludes the designer.
