Sneakers: from normcore to loud luxury

Sneakers – who are they actually for?

The answer may seem trivial, but the truth is that they are shoes for everyone! Sneakers are the shoes that have democratised fashion: they are worn by girls in suits, guys in tracksuits, architects in black total looks and students in vintage jeans.

They are the only type of footwear that works whether you’re in a business meeting (in the right version) or on a night out with friends. Sneakers are a cultural code today – they say you are part of an urban community where comfort and style go hand in hand.

How do you style sneakers?

You can go normcore and opt for white classics that look good with absolutely everything – from jeans to a minimalist suit. Or you can turn the look towards loud luxury and opt for a pair with a solid sole, in neon colours that do the job themselves.

Sneakers love contrast – on the one hand, they look great with an oversize coat, on the other with a light dress, which they instantly strip away the excessive sweetness. The rule is simple: sneakers are like spice – they add character to the whole look.

Women’s sneakers

Women love sneakers for their ability to combine comfort with feminine style (here we recommend Nike women’s shoes in particular). Pastel pink, mint and blue models bring lightness to everyday outfits, while white classics have become a must-have for every wardrobe. High-heeled sneakers are also a hit, as they elongate the legs and add inches – ideal if you don’t want to go for stilettos but still want the ‘wow’ effect.

Men’s sneakers

With men, sneakers act as a business card. Classic retro models – inspired by 1980s basketball – are making a strong comeback and go well with bomber jackets or casual jeans. Minimalist leather sneakers that can easily be worn with a jacket are also becoming increasingly popular. Men are treating them as a wardrobe foundation – something that is just as important as a good watch.

Nike – an icon that doesn’t age

Nike is a legend. Air Force 1, Air Max or Dunk – everyone knows these models, even if they are not sneakerheads. The brand doesn’t just stay level-headed, it keeps on experimenting: sometimes it collaborates with haute couture designers, other times with underground artists. Nike sneakers bridge the gap between sport, street culture and luxury. They are worn by rappers, influencers, but also by designers in suits – because Nike is no longer just a shoe, it is a pop culture icon.

Steve Madden – high-top sneakers

If Nike sneakers are a classic, then Steve Madden shoes are like a loud guest at a party who can’t be missed. Thick, chunky sole? A must-have. Eye-catching colours? Always. These are sneakers made for the loud luxury trend – they’re not meant to be the backdrop, they’re meant to be the centre of a look. Perfect for simple styles in neutral colours – that’s when the shoes take over the spotlight.

Rieker – comfort first

And if you are looking for sneakers with more of a “slow life” vibe, then Rieker has something for you. Their shoes are the definition of comfort – soft, lightweight, made to walk around town all day in. The aesthetics? Subtle, minimalist, with details that add a fresh touch. These are sneakers for those who want to be sure that fashion and comfort can go hand in hand. Literally(Rieker shoes – collection for 2025).

Trends for autumn 2025

Autumn 2025 is all about sneakers in two guises. On the one hand, we have earthy colours – olives, beiges, reds – which go perfectly with autumn coats and chunky jumpers. On the other hand, energetic accents: neon red, cobalt or orange to break up the dullness. Retro classics, hybrids with chunky soles and sneakers made from eco-friendly materials will be on trend. Fashion for autumn makes it clear: sneakers have no season. They’re already year-round shoes – all you need to do is change their character to suit every season.
