Strong colours and wood. This is how a 90-square-metre flat was created in Gdynia

A 90 sq m flat designed by Sylwia and Filip Chojnacki of con studio was created in Gdynia. They prepared the project for a family of three – a married couple with a daughter. The architects opted for a light, bright colour scheme complemented by clear accents that bring balance and personal expression to the interior.

Natural materials and muted wood colours dominate, providing a backdrop for stronger elements. Brick-red kitchen fittings, geometric tiles in the entrance area and green accents in the bathroom give the space rhythm and energy. Thanks to the well-thought-out composition, the interior remains coherent, open and amenable to further arrangements.

The design has been conceived to leave room for the residents’ personalities. The flat can be easily enriched with further decorations, graphics and accessories that naturally fit into its style. The owner’s passion for ceramics was particularly important here. For this reason, there is room in her home for a display of her original works.

An important functional element of the design is a pantry concealed in the built-in part of the house, which at the same time serves as a so-called “dirty kitchen”. This solution makes it possible to keep the open living area tidy, without sacrificing the convenience of use. Thanks to this clever treatment, the interior remains aesthetically pleasing and tidy, regardless of the daily rhythm of home life.

The whole creates a cosy, warm space conducive to spending time together. At the same time, the flat in Gdynia from con studio provides for the possibility of separating places where each of the household members can find a moment of peace and breathing space.

Sylwia and Filip Chojnacki run the con studio studio in Gdańsk. In their projects, they combine functionality with aesthetics, focusing on timeless solutions and harmony of space. Their approach is based on careful observation of space, the rhythm of light and proportions. The architects do not use ready-made schemes, but try to bring out the individual character of each space. In their designs, they combine the simplicity of natural materials with delicate colour accents to create interiors that are calm, sustainable and personal.
