Summary of renovations of Wrocław townhouses. Here are the 10 best renovations in 2024

Wrocław’s townhouses are among the most beautiful in the country, thanks in large part to renovations. The year 2024 brought further impressive renovation results, thanks to which many historic buildings have regained their former splendour. The city summed up its efforts to renovate the municipal stock and the buildings of housing communities. Among these, 10 townhouses were singled out for their spectacular transformations.

Record-breaking renovation budget

In 2024, the city of Wrocław has earmarked as much as PLN 120 million for the renovation of tenement houses and investments in the municipal resource. Of this amount, PLN 22 million has been directed towards supporting housing communities in which the city has shares. It is thanks to the cooperation between private owners and the local authority that it has been possible to renovate numerous buildings of particular historical and architectural value.

Partnership in renovating monuments

The City of Wrocław is the co-owner of around 4,000 buildings managed by housing communities. This means that the local authority actively participates in financing their renovation. The city vice-president emphasises the role of private owners who are willing to get involved in the renovation of their properties.

“We are full of appreciation for the many housing communities that show initiative. Private owners take care of their property and renovate their tenements with the financial participation of Wrocław. Most of them are historic buildings, listed in the municipal register of monuments or even in the register of monuments,” says a representative of the city office.

The impact of the renovation of Wrocław’s townhouses on the city

Renovated townhouses are not only an improvement in the aesthetics of Wrocław, but also a tangible gain for residents and tourists. Renovations are an opportunity to increase the value of real estate and the attractiveness of local neighbourhoods. Many of the renovated buildings now house flats, offices and public premises, thus serving the entire community.

Prospects for the future

The city announces that it will continue to invest in the municipal stock and work with housing associations in the coming years. The renovation programme envisages that around 50 tenement houses will be renovated each year, which increases the chances of preserving the historical character of Wrocław. Thanks to these measures, the capital of Lower Silesia is strengthening its position as a city that cares for its cultural heritage while supporting the needs of its residents.
