Filling Pieces, a Dutch brand that blends the worlds of high-end fashion and streetwear, presents its AW26 collection, *The Art of Cinema*. Born out of a love for cinema, this collection tells a story of the magic of the screen, cinematic emotions, leading roles and the art of character creation – aspects that are also integral to fashion. The theme of film classics runs through the graphics and colour palettes of both the footwear and ready-to-wear ranges. ‘The Art of Cinema’ is a tribute to cinema that takes the viewer on a journey.
According to the brand’s designers, the art of cinema is about telling stories using cinematic tools: the actor, the script, emotions, the right setting and imagery. Just as in fashion and the creation of one’s own style, which is a form of self-expression. That is why, in The Art of Cinema collection, Filling Pieces presents graphic elements straight from the world of film sets. Sweatshirts, long-sleeved tops and T-shirts feature film strip motifs, ‘scenes’ designed by the artist Gabriel Polo – the atmospheric interior of an old cinema with a couple of spectators, a film set, a mysterious director, and finally a film award statuette. These designs feature the brand’s distinctive symbol – the Gowtu Knot – a weave that brings together heritage and craftsmanship. The collection’s colour palette features navy blues, pastel blues, black, greys, beiges, browns and a red straight off the red carpet.
‘The Art of Cinema’ also features Filling Pieces’ iconic jumpers, jersey T-shirts, jackets and cardigans – designs that combine urban chic, quality, attention to detail and an understated, relaxed style. Standout pieces in this collection include: a black leather bomber jacket (made from sheepskin), combining functionality and elegance; a windbreaker (in black and red); elegant cardigans featuring the brand’s signature weave; and sets (trousers, denim jackets and hoodies). The garments are made from the highest-quality materials: wool, cotton, viscose, leather and sherpa fleece.

The collection would not be complete without footwear for autumn and winter, as well as Filling Pieces’ signature moccasins. The brand presents loafers with a cinematic theme, including the PATCH LOAFER YELLOW CAB model featuring the iconic yellow taxi (a tribute to 1970s cinema). The Art of Cinema is a real treat for fans of classic cinema. The LOAFER models, available in a range of colours, offer a modern take on classic moccasins. For outfits on cooler days, the brand suggests leather ankle boots (The Shaft – inspired by the 1970 film *The Shaft*) or the lace-up CRUISER.
