The beautiful interior of a house in a small Stone. This is a project by the HOUMI studio

The interior of the house is the result of adapting the family’s needs to their lifestyle. Visual qualities were also of great importance. The investors wanted their dream home to be filled with furniture and colours that were pleasing to the eyes and modern. The designers from the HOUMI studio were able to apply bold solutions. The result? Take a look!

The designers analysed the possibilities offered by the building itself. The positioning of the windows and the exposure to the sides of the world were important. Plenty of natural light penetrates into the living room. In addition, it was possible to create a bright living area with white walls and floors. This created a backdrop for the intense and contrasting colours that give the interior its character.

The living room has become the heart of the home, where the residents spend most of their time. The U-shaped corner sofa, which has a very simple and minimalist form, is juxtaposed with an irregular woollen rug and a charming pink plastic armchair by Faye Toogood. This shape of the furniture is conducive to establishing relationships and spending time with loved ones.

In relation to the cathedral-like structure of the roof, we decided to place above eye level a combination of Petite Friture Vertigo and Flowerpot lamps from &Tradition, characterised by distinctive colour and varied forms. Together, they will create a remarkable compilation that focuses everyone’s eyes,” explain Katarzyna Kacik and Aleksandra Poprawa from the Houmi studio.

Part of the living area is the kitchen. It is distinguished by its colour scheme. The designers opted for terracotta tones, which are accentuated by copper accessories. An important element is the pudding-shaped island in a minimalist form.

When designing the guest bathroom, the HOUMI duo wanted to achieve an elegant effect. The entire atmosphere of the room was based on a strong contrast. A black mosaic apron with a three-part framed mirror adjoins a wooden, stylised cabinet designed by the architects. The shower is impressive. It has been built in a rounded form and lined with patterned tiles in a burgundy colour that adds variety to the whole concept. A detail that captures the atmosphere of the bathroom is the lamp by Polish manufacturer Embassy Interiors.

The interior of the house is decorated with many different colours, which nevertheless form a harmonious palette. An example is the lime-coloured door at the top of the corridor that leads to the private area – the master bedroom.

This space is a very cosy and warm interior, rich in interesting forms that we identify with. Authentic furniture such as round headrests together with the bed, a hanging chest of drawers and a minimalist retro-style cabinet give originality to this interior, the designers add.

Another bathroom is located next to the master bedroom. The designers decided to combine a monumental granite bathtub surround with a marble mosaic and textured wooden tiles. This provides a subdued base with varied textures. A colourful accent is Ms Jurek’s arched lamp.

The vast majority of the elements in these interiors were made to our design. These include not only the built-in furniture and wardrobes, but also the finer furniture and upholstered elements. As a result, the house has a very individual character and the interiors are timeless and unique,” conclude the authors of the project.
