The Enrage boutique in Łódź: a minimalist space with a distinctive identity

Enrage’s first high-street boutique in Łódź is a space in which the architects from the 3XEL studio have translated the brand’s rebellious character into the language of materials, proportions and deliberately understated design choices. Spanning 60 square metres, the space offers rawness, authenticity and an atmosphere conducive to both shopping and socialising, rather than following commercial conventions.

The interior opens up with an imposing wall constructed from dozens of vintage loudspeakers. This fully-fledged functional element acts as the boutique’s beating heart: it builds energy, defines the atmosphere and immediately draws visitors into the world of Enrage. The architects dispensed with a traditional checkout counter – a deliberate choice that has blurred the boundaries between the sales area and the relaxation zone, lending the space a relaxed, open character. A relaxation area has been planned at the centre, where the softness of the vintage leather armchairs and the patterned rug create a balanced counterpoint to the minimalist surroundings.

Materials with a raw texture

The interior’s foundation is based on a combination of light-coloured textured plaster, raw concrete on the ceiling and a cool microcement finish on the floor. This minimalist foundation is complemented by large-format steel panels, which provide a striking backdrop for the clothing rails. A sense of warmth is introduced by the deep tones of dark wood – present in the form of cuboid display units and shelving housing audio equipment and a collection of vinyl records. Skateboards with clean lines hang on the textured walls, subtly emphasising the brand’s urban heritage.

No fixed layout

The space has been designed to be flexible and adapt to various usage scenarios. The absence of a separate checkout area, the central lounge island and the open display layout create an environment conducive to hosting events, collection launches or intimate gatherings. The interior remains a neutral yet distinctive backdrop – it does not dominate the product, but allows it to take centre stage.

Harmony with a strong character

The design by Justyna and Patryk Ławrynowicz of 3XEL is an example of a space that combines austerity with sophistication. The Enrage boutique is a place with a distinctive identity, yet remains open to evolution – it can change in line with the brand’s collections, ideas and energy. It is architecture that consciously takes a back seat to fashion, creating the ideal conditions for its presentation.

About the practice:

3XEL Architekci is Justyna and Patryk Ławrynowicz – since 2016, we have been running a practice specialising in the design of private and commercial interiors. We create spaces that remain timeless for years to come, combining aesthetics, functionality and attention to detail. As qualified architects from the University of Technology, we apply our architectural knowledge to interior design – consciously manipulating light, proportion and form. We draw inspiration from modernism, prioritising harmony and the integrity of materials.
