The 75 sq m flat in Tychy was created with the needs of a young couple in mind. Its interior exudes tranquillity and balance, while retaining a distinctive character. It is a space where functionality is combined with an original approach to colours, textures and patterns. Designer furniture, carefully selected details and thoughtful lighting underline the individuality of the design, where colour motifs, curves and curves dominate.
Designer Dominika Cymerman faced the challenge of reconciling the differing tastes of the two investors. After analysing the inspiration provided by the couple, she discovered that their preferences for interiors were completely different – the investor opted for light, delicate spaces in warm pastel colours, boho or classic style, while she chose darker, more expressive interiors maintained in cool tones, modern and contrasting. Both parties, however, remained open to non-standard solutions.
It was jointly agreed that the living area would be a space for relaxation and rest, which, with its warm and cosy atmosphere, encourages people to spend time together. The bathroom and bedroom, on the other hand, could be more colourful and expressive, while the study could be decorated in dark tones to promote concentration.
In terms of functionality, the couple were in agreement – the flat had to be comfortable and suitable for everyday needs. The designer suggested transforming the toilet into a utility room, or mini-fridge – a solution that turned out to be a hit. The bedroom was slightly enlarged at the expense of the study, from which the partition wall was removed in favour of glazing, resulting in a feeling of spaciousness and better light. An abundance of storage space and enclosed wardrobes make daily tidiness easier. During the photo shoot, the clients described their new interior as “easy to clean” and emphasised that they “feel great living in it”.
In the living area, a cosy atmosphere is achieved, among other things, through fabric-like structured wallpaper, a warm colour palette and atmospheric sidelighting. The solutions used include the Lampe de Marseille Mini lamp by Le Corbusier and wall lamps by Marset. Distinctive accents, such as peach-coloured tiles, fluted glass and a contrasting sofa enriched with accessories, give this space a unique character.

The designer’s favourite room is the bathroom, where an unusual combination is proposed – the patterned black and white tile on the floor contrasts with the dark blue spotted walls. This was complemented by a dirty-pink washbasin and faucets in a rose gold shade, subtly referencing the kitchen’s colour scheme. Each element was carefully matched by testing numerous material combinations. The whole composition is completed by the intensely coloured radiator and the blue detail of the Masiero lamp next to the mirror – not only a compromise between the investors’ tastes, but also an expression of the creative freedom the designer was given.
The bedroom and study are dominated by strong patterns and intense colours. The study is designed as a dark cubicle, which contrasts sharply with the light hallway and the white wall. The custom-made glazing gives this room extra spaciousness and allows for more light.
The design by Dominika Cymerman proves that it is possible to create an interior that combines a variety of needs and aesthetic preferences. The interior not only exudes tranquillity, but also delights with a wealth of colours and patterns. A key role in the realisation of this original space was played by a team of proven contractors, taking care of the precise execution of every detail.
