It is in an old tenement in Poznań. The flat of interior designer Ludomira Krzynowek-Wosinska is an example of interior customisation. The designer was able to show what sense of aesthetics lies in her heart and create a place that she can successfully call home.
She chose her place to live in the heart of Poznań, in one of the tenement houses from 1924. The flat is 70 sq m, and its new interior is a good example of combining old architecture with modern solutions. One example is the old double doors, which give the space a stonelike feel.
The power of detail
The building itself has undergone a renovation, during which many of the original elements were restored. These were key in choosing this flat, in particular the wooden windows and the restored staircase.
The interior has been designed with functionality and aesthetics in mind. The bedroom has benefited from a self-designed wardrobe and the bathroom, although small, is fully modern and functional. The kitchen, separated from the living room, has been designed to maximise the number of cupboards without compromising on aesthetics. For the owners, who value tidiness, this space has become the heart of the home, where cooking is a real pleasure.
Spirit of the past
The interior designer did some of the finishing work herself and with the help of family and friends. Dismantling old walls, scraping off plaster or sanding doors – all this created the unique atmosphere of the place. The details, which bear witness to the love of craftsmanship, could not be missing either.
Initially, the premises had a modern and minimalist character. However, the new owners decided to introduce solutions that give the space a warm and cosy feel. Wooden elements, such as the table, chairs and benches, combined with textured upholstery, gave the interior a peculiar character. Exceptional paintings by Ula Teperek, which were placed in the flat thanks to cooperation with the Warsaw gallery YAM, beautifully fit into the whole, combining modernity with a touch of artistic accent. The interior is full of warmth, thanks to a variety of materials: wood, metal accents, mirrors, mosaics and carefully selected decorative details.
Interior designer’s flat
The children’s room, with its cottage-shaped pull-out bed, is a dream come true for toddler space combined with functionality. This space is full of shelves, drawers and nooks for children’s treasures. Also, the corridor, which is a part of the house, was planned with space organisation in mind – it accommodated wardrobes, including those for jackets and household ones, indispensable in every home, explains Ludomira Krzynowek-Wosińska.
The flat relies on classic wooden floors – herringbone, which pays respect to the townhouse atmosphere. In the corridor, an elegant black and white Dunin mosaic was used, whose monochromatic pattern refers to the tenement traditions and, at the same time, modern elegance.
