The NOKE Architekci team values working with people who have precise expectations and are not afraid of unusual solutions. This is what the realisation of this unique project looked like. – “We love it when investors set the bar high – it stimulates our creativity and allows us to create without compromise,” comments Karol Pasternak of NOKE.
The studio’s new project is a spacious penthouse with a terrace, located right on the border of Warsaw’s Śródmieście district. The architects’ aim was to design an interior with two contrasting characters – calming by day and expressive by night. During the day, it was to be a neutral background for everyday life and lush greenery. After dark, it was to be transformed into a colourful, pulsating space.
The Red Lipstick Monster influencer’s flat – where nature meets design
The flat was located on the top floor of a modern building. Its panoramic windows are surrounded by ceramic tiles created by hand by Krystyna Wacławek – these set the tone for the entire aesthetic of the interior. Greenery, both indoor and outdoor, was treated as an integral part of the space. – “Ewa and Wojtek are plant lovers, so their presence was to be felt in every corner of the flat – both inside and through the windows,” adds Pasternak. The colour scheme of the interior is based on muted, natural shades of sand and warm greys, which promotes an atmosphere of calm.
Mirror, courtyard and roof – a space full of light and air
Immediately upon entering the flat, the attention is drawn to the original monumental mirror by KOPI HOME. The living space has been designed as open, with glazing overlooking the treetops. At the heart of the flat is a small courtyard with plants – its glass walls make the garden part of the interior. A staircase visible from here leads to a roof terrace with an impressive view.
Natural materials and round forms
The interior style is based on the use of authentic, noble materials. In the words of Ola Hyz, architect from the NOKE team: – “We wanted to show the true beauty of stone, wood and fabrics. Carving organic forms in marble was a pure pleasure – almost like the work of a sculptor artist.”
The flat is dominated by mineral plaster walls, oiled oak elements and brushed stone accents. Textiles – from curtains to upholstery – were sewn from natural linen and cotton. The designers consciously avoided sharp angles – the soft lines of the furniture and architectural details were intended to allude to forms found in nature and reinforce the feeling of fluidity and harmony.
Private area – a space of relaxation and softness
The night area is also dominated by organic shapes and subtle colours. The bedroom’s centrepiece is the custom-designed bed. Its base is reminiscent of a sandy bottom shaped by water, which blends in with the texture of the mineral wall. In the bathroom, which overlooks the green patio, a massive block of marble catches the eye. Its surface has been hollowed out with extreme precision into the round bowls of the wash basins – details that combine sculptural form with functionality.
When darkness falls – a spectacle of light in Red Lipstick Monster’s flat
As evening falls, the flat undergoes a fascinating metamorphosis. Hidden LED light sources scattered throughout the space enable the owners to play with colour. They can vary the colours, saturation and intensity of the light at will – depending on their mood and the occasion.
– “We wanted the evening interior design to be associated with urban neon – dynamic, colourful and full of energy. Like Warsaw at night and like the owners themselves – creative and open” – explains Michał Niedośpiał, an architect from the ISKRY studio and co-creator of the project.
The influencer’s penthouse – a balance between nature and urban rhythm
The flat of influencer Red Lipstick Monster is a project that combines the primal calm of nature with the pulsating energy of the big city. Through the skilful use of lighting and natural materials, the space becomes changeable and flexible, yet cosy and harmonious. NOKE Architects have once again proven their ability to create interiors that are both functional and emotional.
