The historic vicarage in Dydnia is one of the most beautiful buildings of wooden architecture in south-eastern Poland. Erected more than a century ago, the building is threatened with structural collapse. In view of the fact that the parish cannot afford to renovate it, the Podkarpacka Fundacja Ochrony Zabytków “Opoka” offered its help.
The presbytery in Dydnia was in fairly good condition until a few years ago and did not require such urgent and immediate help. Unfortunately, as a result of faulty construction, part of the building collapsed, causing its condition to deteriorate drastically. The parish on whose land the old vicarage stands has no funds to save the building.

The Podkarpacka Fundacja Ochrony Zabytków “Opoka” (Podkarpackie Foundation for the Preservation of Historical Monuments “Opoka”), after a long struggle to save and restore the historic vicarage in Dydnia, has been forced to look for a new, suitable and responsible owner for the building. Due to its structural defects, the building has to be moved to another suitable location. The current location threatens the safety of people and neighbouring buildings. The Foundation assures that it will provide all possible assistance to the new owner in obtaining funds and grants to restore the splendour of this architectural monument, as it has experience in saving such buildings and has already been involved in similar actions on many occasions.

The new location can only take place on the territory of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, due to the class of the monument, the special, valuable, historical values of this object. As a foundation that saves monuments and cares for the preservation of the cultural and historical heritage of the region, we also make no secret of the fact that the most suitable place for the historic vicarage in Dydnia would be the closest vicinity of its current location. Therefore, with a heartfelt request and consideration of the current situation, we would like to appeal to the local authorities, institutions, entrepreneurs, associations and individuals to make every effort to ensure that such a beautiful, unique object remains in your area, pleasing to the eye and serving the local community for generations to come. However, if this option is not possible, we would like to ask all of you, for whom the fate of our local monuments is not indifferent, to help us find a suitable place for the vicarage building in Dydnia – the owner appeals.

Listed on the Register of Historical Monuments, the wooden vicarage stands next to the neo-Gothic church of Archangel Michael and St. Anne in Dydnia, a village in the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. It was built around 1917 according to a design by architect Bogdan Treter, the then Provincial Conservator of Monuments in Krakow. Along with the wooden church in neighbouring Jabłonka and the church in Liszna near Sanok, it is one of the most interesting buildings erected in the so-called Podhale style in the entire voivodship. The timber-framed building was made of larch wood and set on a stone foundation. It was boarded externally with shingles and the roof was covered with tiles. The triangular gables bear the motif of the setting sun, characteristic of Podhale.
