Cosentino materials can not only decorate the interiors of houses or flats. Dekton mineral surfaces can be successfully used in floating houses. An example is the yacht from the Polish shipyard MOON Yacht. In addition to the high quality and exceptional appearance of Cosentino products, the investor was convinced by the brand’s values related to sustainability, which are an integral part of its business.
Cosentino products have been finding their way into a variety of interiors for more than 40 years. They are used in kitchen worktops, bathrooms or even facades. One of the latest examples of the material’s versatility is the interior of a yacht from the Polish shipyard MOON Yacht. Those working on the décor of the most luxurious yachts have relied on materials from the Dekton line.
Sustainable development
The responsible approach to doing business that Cosentino has followed for years led designer Karol Michulski to use the brand’s products in his design. As he says, it was not only the high quality and design of the stones that influenced the choice of the brand. The fact that the materials came from sustainable sources was decisive. Indeed, Dekton is carbon neutral. This was important not only for the designer, but also for the end customer, who influenced the appearance of his yacht.
We create our products with the planet in mind, in the spirit of sustainability. The Dekton line is zero-emission and also contains a high percentage of recycled materials. Production is also unusual – as we use renewable electricity and recycled water. We are very pleased that our actions are being recognised and are also important for our customers,” says Hubert Rutynowski from Cosentino Polska.
Dekton on board
Cosentino mineral surfaces were used on deck in three different spaces. In the bedroom, the Dekton Agra stone slab was used to create the headboard and bed frame, which are the main elements in any yacht cabin. This model was also used in the bathroom – on the countertops under the washbasin and on the panels behind it. The kitchen, on the other hand, is decorated with Dekton Taga, which was used for the kitchen island, the worktops and as a TV screen.
Responsibility towards the environment and society
Cosentino’s commitment to sustainability does not just take place on one level. In the interests of transparency, the company produces a Sustainability Report, based on a Non-Financial Information Statement, communicating the results. In addition to its concern for the environment, the brand supports the Eduarda Justo Foundation, where it promotes education and training for young people and collaborates with various social organisations that support disadvantaged children, young people and families.
