The new interior of a house in Kolobrzeg. It is a project by Katarzyna Wróblewska

There used to be a sewing room here. The new interior of the old house in Kołobrzeg was taken care of by Katarzyna Wróblewska, who runs the Kate Studio. She filled the space with original design and art.

It is a place with history. The renovated house in Kołobrzeg was previously a sewing room. Adapting such a space, in which many of the original elements have been preserved, made it possible to create a place that both reflects the spirit of history and smiles towards modernity.

A couple living in retirement live here. The duo gained the opportunity to arrange the numerous bedrooms and study in accordance with the needs of their multi-generational family. The owners wanted an interior that exudes warmth, filled with colourful accents and contemporary art. This is why the rooms feature sculptures by Polish artists such as Romuald Wisniewski and Paweł Goliszek. A real highlight are the sculptures by Igor Mitoraj displayed here. The walls are decorated with paintings by Jacek Szynkarczuk, Filip Łoziński or Leon Tarasewicz. These elements give the interior an artistic feel and correspond perfectly with the modern design.

When designing the interior, Katarzyna Wróblewska used high-quality materials. The bathrooms are decorated with marble arranged in three-colour mosaics. The rooms have been carefully designed, as evidenced, for example, by the designer lamps.

Marble also appeared on the coffee tables and console, where it serves as a tabletop. The furniture has been renovated.

This is an ideal example of how old furnishings can blend harmoniously with modern accents to create a whole with a unique character, ” admits the designer.

The original floors visually warm up the bright interior. They are an accent, giving the space a cosy feel. The parquet floor was made of oak and fits perfectly with the eclectic style of the interior.

In some rooms, it was possible to preserve the original beech parquet flooring from the time when the building was still used as a sewing shop, which adds a unique historical value to the interior. This house is a perfect example of combining modern solutions with the spirit of bygone times, creating a space full of inspiration and comfort, ‘ concludes Katarzyna Wróblewska.
