MMC, a Polish fashion brand run from the outset by Ilona Majer and Rafał Michalak, is proof that high-quality fashion can be created in Poland, attracting crowds of stars, celebrities and figures from the worlds of culture and business to its shows. It is with great pride that we have once again taken on the role of Media Patron for the event. Here is our report from the fashion show of the new MMC Siren’s SS27 collection!
SIREN’S SS27 – THE NEW COLLECTION FROM MMC
Let’s start with the most important part – the fashion show itself. The presentation of the SIREN’S SS27 collection took place within the industrial walls of the Creative Industries Institute on Mińska Street in Warsaw. MMC’s new collection showcases the designers’ skills, sartorial craftsmanship and a display of creativity in combining textures, colours and the play of light. The designers behind the collection have focused on delicate, sheer fabrics which, when in motion, rise and fall gently, as if moved by invisible ocean waves.
The silhouettes balance between bold construction and lightness of form, creating a dynamic, multi-dimensional composition – explain the designers.
The subtlety of the fabrics, combined with the shimmer of sequins and turquoise jacquards, gives the impression that they have been plucked straight from the depths of the sea. Their transparency and lightness are a phenomenal reference to water and the mermaids that dwell within it, their untamed nature, beauty, but also their destructive power.
The show was directed by the ever-reliable Kasia Sokołowska, who has been associated with the MMC brand for years. Alongside well-known models, celebrities and friends of the brand also appeared on the catwalk. Among the celebrities who aroused great interest among the audience was Maffashion, who presented a casual outfit. What sparked the greatest enthusiasm was the fact that the influencer appeared on the catwalk with short hair, which she had recently cut as part of the now legendary Łatwogang campaign. It must be said that this is courage worthy of a mermaid! It is also significant that as many as thirty outfits were featured in the show. You’ll find out why exactly that number in the rest of the article.

THE SIREN’S SONG AS INSPIRATION
Right, but what’s all this about the siren’s song? As the designers themselves explain, the SIREN’S collection is a story about temptation as a conscious choice. This is where the theme of reinterpreting the classic motif of the siren’s song comes in. A shift away from the motif of fear and doom, and a move towards courage and self-determination.
In this narrative, it becomes a symbol of aspiration, courage and inner strength. An impulse to push one’s own boundaries. The collection is based on the tension between opposites: strength and sensitivity, control and instinct, structure and fluidity – explains the MMC duo.
As lovers of symbolism and simple yet original references, we are very pleasantly surprised by the way symbolism, nature and fashion are combined, as well as their presentation at the show. Although the theme might seem clichéd, Ilona and Rafał have done it justice by drawing on what they do best: creativity and playful experimentation with form.
DESIGN, ACCESSORIES AND STYLISH ACCENTS
Fashion and design go hand in hand. That is why the show would not have been complete without designer accessories and inspiration. Ilona and Rafał know that accessories are an integral part of the overall look, which is why every outfit shown at the show featured carefully selected accessories that emphasised the look in question. These included the latest MMC Studio bag designs, belts, pins and scarves.
Partner brands were also present, with their products adorning the models’ outfits. Among them was TOUS, which provided the jewellery. Glistening in the flash of the cameras, TOUS’s bestsellers did not merely complement the outfits; they were an integral part of them. “In this collaboration, the coherence of the story was particularly important to us – TOUS jewellery is not an accessory, but an integral part of the narrative. Together, we wanted to create something that naturally connects the world of fashion and emotion with our brand’s DNA,” says Magdalena Siegal, Communication Manager for the TOUS brand in Poland.

Surprising, though it must be said that they were superbly designed and perfectly matched to the entire collection, were also the accessories created as part of the collaboration between MMC and the glo brand. The accessories were designed in three colours – a warm white inspired by Pantone trends, pastel blue and vibrant orange. The set, consisting of a belt pouch and a decorative charm, showcases MMC’s craftsmanship and proves that fashion can be played with in many ways, and its applications can be multiplied to the nth degree. The MMC x glo accessories also featured as part of the models’ outfits, proving that well-designed accessories go with everything, anywhere. Interestingly, the collaboration isn’t limited to the day of the show – the new collection of accessories will be available to purchase at the glo store.
Among the accessories that also caught the eye – as the name suggests – were glasses from Optyk Kochański.
BEAUTY HAS MANY FACES
One cannot talk about a fashion show without mentioning the dozens of people who work behind the scenes at the event, but without their work, nothing would have come of it. We are talking about the make-up artists and hairdressers who, as usual, rose to the challenge and ensured that every detail, every strand of hair, every millimetre of make-up was perfect. The AA Cosmetics team is responsible for the models’ flawless make-up during the show, having created a beauty look that harmoniously complements the collection’s aesthetic – balancing strength and subtlety, light and transparency.
The Schwarzkopf Professional team, led by hair lead Daniel Gryszke, was responsible for the hairstyles during the show. The stylists created two contrasting styles: a minimalist, smooth, sleek look and styles with a bold, strong texture. The styles are created using the Session Label range – The Jelly, The Texturizer and The Flexible – which emphasise the tension between control and freedom, reflecting the dualistic nature of the collection.

A PARTNERSHIP THAT DELIVERS
It is also worth mentioning the presence of DENZA cars (BYD’s premium range) as a partner of the show. It was these vehicles that ensured the comfortable and safe transport of guests to the event. This is yet another example of how the MMC duo can bring together different worlds – the aforementioned design, art, culture, media and business, but also the automotive industry. Well, why not!? Cars are part of our everyday lives – just like fashion. Combining the MMC duo’s innovative approach to fashion with modern technologies from the Far East is natural and fully in line with the MMC brand’s DNA. The brand ambassador is none other than Daniel Craig himself, so could there be any better proof of prestige?

SHOW. FILM. MUSIC. HOW MMC BRINGS WORLDS TOGETHER!
The SIREN’S SS27 collection was presented in two ways. Firstly, as part of a fashion show held in the industrial halls of the Institute of Creative Industries on Mińska Street. A crowd of guests, an atmosphere brimming with enthusiasm and the stark walls of former factory buildings are a tried-and-tested recipe for a successful show. All the more so as MMC is currently celebrating the 30th anniversary of the brand’s founding. Happy anniversary – here’s to another 100 years of creating Polish fashion!
The second communication channel for the new collection was the creation of an original campaign film that combines fashion with audiovisual techniques. The film, created specifically for the collection, was directed by Marcin Ziółko, whilst the music for the film and the entire show was provided by ZIGY IVA and Pyotr Radzio. Like the collection itself, the entire audiovisual experience created for the collection refers to water as an element, and to its lightness, fluidity and transparency, but also its uncompromising strength. “This is a collection in which temptation does not lead to downfall but becomes the beginning of change and a conscious choice,” the creators conclude.
MMC’S 30TH BIRTHDAY: LIFE BEGINS AFTER THIRTY!
The fashion show was not the only attraction of the day. Ilona Majer, Rafał Michalak and MMC are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the brand’s founding this year. The presentation of this exceptional collection, combined with the milestone anniversary, meant that the halls on Mińska Street were bursting at the seams with a crowd of guests, friends and fans of the MMC brand. Amidst a storm of applause, the designers received a flood of congratulations, flowers and expressions of appreciation! It was this milestone anniversary that prompted the designers to showcase as many as 30 looks in a single show!
