The premium segment, European ambitions – and a base in southern Poland. Discover the Brinova brand

For centuries, natural materials – wood, linen, cotton and glass – have told the story of light and humanity: our moods, the rhythm of the day, and the way we experience space. The Polish lighting brand Brinova remains true to this philosophy. From the very beginning, it has been creating lamps from what is genuine: with artisanal precision and using the highest quality natural materials. This is an offering for those who do not buy a lamp ‘just because’. What matters is the material, the form and how the light fitting shapes the space and influences emotions – even before it is switched on.

The BRINOVA brand is entering the premium segment, focusing on conscious design – with respect for materials, nature, proportions and the emotions of users. The products are manufactured locally, in the Opole region, but the brand’s design language and ambitions extend far beyond Poland. This is lighting that is not meant to disappear after a season, but to mature alongside the space in which the user lives.

Before you flick the switch

How often do we think about the fact that a lamp’s story begins long before the switch is flicked? The starting point for every Brinova lamp is the material – fine timber with its unique grain created by nature, or linen and cotton – each carrying its own history and character. When you touch them, you can feel the warmth and delicacy of the oiled wood, or the softness of the fabric. These are materialsthat subtly influence the perception of a space.

In a world of fast consumption and disposable trends, Brinova’s designers take a completely different approach. Every material is carefully chosen and selected; FSC-certified wood comes from responsibly managed forests, fabrics from local suppliers, and the texture of each element is unique. Craftsmanship and full control over the process ensure that BRINOVA lampsare products of the highest quality. This is one of the key elements of the brand’s identity. But the design itself is no less important.

Light, architecture and well-being

The main idea guiding the brand’s creators is how light can shape the spaces in which we live and spend our daily lives, and how it can influence our emotions and well-being. It is no coincidence that the architectural character of the lamps is what sets the Brinova brand apart. Behind the brand’s designs is Christian Ortlieb, a designer who has been creating lighting for architects and the most demanding spaces for over 30 years. His philosophy is simple: light should not dominate, but harmonise. It should be like silence in music – which is essential for the whole to make sense.

Light is the language of architecture. Not a decoration, but a structural element. Good lighting does not impose itself – it simply allows the space to breathe – says the designer.

Christian Ortlieb

In line with Brinova’s philosophy, light is intended to introduce a subtle structure, guide the eye and provide a backdrop that gives meaning to the space.

Brinova lamps may at times resemble monumental sculptures, forming the heart of a commercial space. At other times, they create an intimate atmosphere in which family life unfolds. They can bring harmony or provide pleasure and comfort through their discreet presence.

Three lamps, three personalities

This philosophy underpins the design of specific Brinova products. The lamps have a ‘personality’ that can be interpreted in many ways – sometimes as the focal point of an interior, sometimes as a discreet backdrop. Within this narrative, the brand’s flagship models emerge, showcasing the different facets of light and space: Amigo, Azalea, Vinci.

Amigo

When grouped together, Amigo lamps take on a distinctive, architectural character. Suspended rhythmically, several light forms create a cohesive installation above the table – a veritable sculpture of light. The natural base of oiled oakand linen lampshades with a subtle texture introduce warmth and authenticity. The soft light diffuses evenly, creating a friendly, intimate atmosphere. Amigo does not dominate the space – it organises it and gives it rhythm. In the single version, it becomes a subtle yet decisive accent that catches the eye with its form and proportions.

Azalea

Azalea fits perfectly into the trend of contemporary interiors that seek a balance between form and feeling. Its slender silhouette, crafted from solid oak, brings order to the interior without overwhelming it. It is a design of tranquillity, where light and material harmonise, emphasising the organic character of the room. The lamp does not compete with its surroundings, but rather contributes to them. Ideal for interiors where the rhythm of the day, the play of light and shadow, and natural materials are key – from private living rooms to intimate, boutique projects.

Vinci

Vinci shifts lighting from a functional role towards architectural expression. The triangular arms, crafted from oak, create a form that changes depending on the perspective, introducing rhythm and order to the interior. In the kitchen, it defines the island area; in gallery spaces, it becomes almost an installation. LED lighting running along the edges highlights the structure, creating a sense of depth and multiple planes. The Up&Down system gives designers full control over the height and arrangement of the lamp, allowing it to be adapted to the function, scale and proportions of the interior. Vinci is not an accessory – it is an element that shapes the space and gives it character.

True light never fades

The story of a lamp does not end at the moment of purchase – with Brinova, that is when it truly begins. Natural materials, artisanal precision and a timeless form ensure that every luminaire becomes a permanent feature of the space – a detail that never loses its significance. A 5-year warranty, full repairability and a zero-waste approach make Brinova lamps a conscious and responsible investment for years to come. These lamps are designed in the spirit of slow design – to last, not just to impress for a moment.
