The Riviera Tower, the tallest building in Greece, is under construction in Athens

The Riviera Tower, also known as the Marina Tower or Hellinikon Marina Residential Tower, is under construction in the coastal district of Elliniko in Athens. When completed in 2026, it will be the tallest building in Greece, reaching an impressive height of 200 metres. Currently, the first place is held by the Athens Tower 1 office building measuring 103 metres. The project by renowned studio Foster Partners envisages 50 floors and 170 luxury flats, which will give it the chance to become one of the new symbols of Athens.

Innovative design with an ecological approach

Riviera Tower is a key element of the ambitious Ellinikon Metropolitan Park development plan, which envisages revitalising the site of the former Athens International Airport and transforming it into one of the world’s largest waterfront parks. The skyscraper fits into the vision of a modern, green city of the future, combining innovative construction technologies with references to the local architectural tradition. The building’s design is inspired by the natural and cultural environment of the Mediterranean. Its structure has been designed to maximise natural light and ventilation, and each flat offers panoramic views of the coast. With green terraces and loggias, the building creates a favourable microclimate for residents.

The tallest building in Greece – comfort and modernity

Riviera Tower will offer its residents luxurious amenities, including a business centre, gym, spa and an exclusive three-storey high lobby with panoramic sea views. Decorative pools are planned at the entrance, which will not only enhance the aesthetics of the space, but also help to naturally cool the environment.

Sustainable architecture for the future

The high-rise has been designed in the spirit of sustainable construction, and the developers responsible for the development are aiming for the prestigious LEED Gold certification. Each flat has a balcony or terrace, and the centrepiece of the building is a ‘green spine’ consisting of numerous vertical gardens. The building uses passive solar design principles, minimising energy consumption through adequate shading and natural ventilation. What’s more, Riviera Tower’s flexible structure allows living spaces to be adapted to changing market needs. Larger flats can easily be subdivided into smaller units or vice versa, giving residents the opportunity to arrange according to individual needs.

Greece’s tallest building as an icon of modern Athens

The Riviera Tower is both the tallest building in Greece and a symbol of modern architectural thought and green cities of the future. The design combines luxury with care for the environment, offering residents exceptional living conditions in harmony with nature. The building will undoubtedly become one of the highlights on the map of Athens’ contemporary architecture.
