The ‘Siren’s’ collection by MMC Studio. The power of form and the lightness of the fabrics!

SIREN’S, the new collection from MMC Studio, is a range that boldly combines structural discipline with the lightness of fabrics that react to light. To celebrate the brand’s three decades in business, designers Ilona Majer and Rafał Michalak have created a series of silhouettes in which form and texture engage in a distinct dialogue. Each piece has been designed to emphasise the tension between strength and delicacy, between bold lines and transparency.

At the heart of the collection are oversized jackets and coats with pronounced shoulders. Their construction is deliberately oversized, giving the silhouettes a monumental character. These strong elements are paired with light maxi dresses made from semi-transparent chiffons and tulle. Lingerie-style slip dresses feature in many looks, introducing softness and subtlety, contrasting with the geometric forms of the outerwear.

Construction and lightness

Shimmering sequinned ensembles play a key role. Designers use sequins as a material to create a luminous surface that shifts with movement. Alongside them are turquoise jacquards with a metallic finish, creating an effect of depth and shimmer. It is these fabrics that give the collection an aquatic character, without resorting to obvious associations.

The collection’s colour palette is based on cool shades of blue and turquoise, broken up by neutral beiges and white. In several silhouettes, an intense orange appears, acting as a luminous accent (emphasising the waistline), finishing a wrap or serving as a detail in the form of a belt. The whole collection has been designed so that the colours work in harmony with the natural light of the space, bringing out the sheen and texture of the fabrics.

Luminous inspirations

In terms of materials, the collection is exceptionally diverse. Alongside sheer fabrics, technical quilting appears, lending volume and definition to the silhouettes. Puff-sleeved silhouettes paired with delicate dresses create a contrast that became one of the show’s most distinctive features. Jacquards, chiffons, sequins and leather… each of these materials was used thoughtfully to build a cohesive visual language. After all, this is characteristic of the MMC duo!

Details complete the look

Accessories serve as a complement, but do not dominate the outfits. The iconic Bon Bon bag returns in oversized versions that emphasise the proportions of the silhouettes. Leather pouches and belts introduce splashes of colour, whilst TOUS jewellery has been selected to harmonise with the sheen of the fabrics, without competing with them. The whole creates a composition in which every element contributes to the collection’s cohesive image.

“Siren’s” is a collection that does not rely on literalism. Instead of illustrating the myth, MMC offers an interpretation based on mood, light and texture. It is a collection that demonstrates how a contemporary feminine silhouette can be consciously constructed – strong, expressive and sensual.

The collection premiered on 8 May during a special show, for which the editorial team at whiteMAD served as media patron. You can read our report on the show HERE.
