The Slavic Social on Grzybowska Street. Polish cuisine reimagined

The Slavic Social is a new Warsaw dining concept, which has opened next to the Hilton Warsaw City hotel on Grzybowska Street. The project’s creators have focused on a contemporary take on Polish cuisine, an atmosphere conducive to business and social gatherings, and the experience gained in Hong Kong’s demanding dining scene.

A new vision for Warsaw’s dining scene

After years of developing restaurant brands in Hong Kong, Bartłomiej Szyniec decided to return to Poland. In his homeland, he has created a new venue: The Slavic Social restaurant at 63 Grzybowska Street, located within the Hilton Warsaw City. The restaurant’s creators make it clear that they do not wish to open yet another venue serving traditional Polish dishes. Their ambition is to create a contemporary urban lounge where business, culture and everyday life come together around a single table. As the founder of Deadly Rabbits Concepts points out: “Poland today is a completely different country from the one I left behind. We can see a huge qualitative, business and cultural transformation. Warsaw has begun to mature as a city of encounters, connections and modern gastronomy. We wanted to create a place that isn’t a copy of Western formats, but a contemporary response to what modern Slavic hospitality can be.”

The Slavic Social and contemporary cuisine

At The Slavic Social, guests will find a signature cocktail bar inspired by the Slavic landscape, a business dining area, a Business Club, the Slavic Lab dedicated to working with herbs, botany and seasonal ingredients, as well as a space designed for intimate tasting dinners, presentations, business breakfasts and events for partners. The cornerstone of the entire concept is a cuisine based on local produce and seasonality. Meanwhile, the creators have deliberately moved away from folkloric associations and a nostalgic view of old Poland, offering a fresh interpretation of the flavours of Central and Eastern Europe.

Location at the Hilton Warsaw City

It is no coincidence that the restaurant was established right next to the Hilton Warsaw City. The neighbourhood is home to hotels, offices and international visitors, making it ideal for business meetings. However, the project’s creators want to give this place a more personal dimension, encouraging longer conversations and relationship-building. “Many restaurants today are solely competing for attention on social media. We’re interested in something else: creating a place that people genuinely want to return to. For a chat. For a dinner with a client. For a team meeting. For an evening that lasts longer than the meal itself,” emphasises Bartłomiej Szyniec. The international nature of the entire venture was evident even before the restaurant opened in Warsaw. In June 2025, the brand was unveiled in Hong Kong during a special pop-up dinner, marking the start of a symbolic dialogue between Warsaw and Asia.

The Slavic Social in Warsaw

Executive Chef Przemysław Gryz, who previously worked at venues including the Westin Hotel, Amber Room, Dr Irena Eris SPA and the Nowy Gurewicz restaurant, is responsible for the original menu. The winner of the Polish Culinary Cup undertook an internship at the KOKA restaurant in Gothenburg following his victory. It is also impossible to overlook his passion for beekeeping, which influences his approach to seasonality and local ingredients. “I’m interested in cuisine that doesn’t have to pretend to be anything it isn’t. Modern, yet rooted in tradition. Cuisine that evokes emotion through flavour, not just presentation,” says the head chef. Bartłomiej Szyniec, meanwhile, announces that the Warsaw restaurant is set to be the start of the brand’s wider expansion: “We don’t view Warsaw as a one-off project. We see enormous potential across the entire region. We want to create modern, high-quality venues that are rooted in the local community, yet operate to international standards.”
