There used to be a chocolate factory here. Classic flat in Poznań

On the site of the former Goplana chocolate factory in Poznań, an example of a modern housing estate has been created that harmoniously combines history with modern design. The 62 sq m flat was designed by Katarzyna Bruch-Menz of Bruch studio. The space was created for a couple of young people from Warsaw.

Already the entrance to the flat announces what aesthetics have been repeated inside. A mirror positioned in the axis of the entrance reflects the light and optically expands the space, at the same time introducing an element of lightness and dynamics. This design introduces a touch of modern elegance to the interior, which is consistently repeated in the subsequent rooms. The focal point of the flat is the bright, spacious living room with kitchenette, which benefits from natural light pouring in through large windows. The combination of muted shades of beige, warm wood and green kitchen cabinetry sets the tone for the entire arrangement, following the trend of modern classics. The delicately decorated stucco walls add depth and character, giving the interior a unique style and elegance.

An oasis of calm

The bedroom proves to be the culmination of classic elegance. The significantly increased amount of decorative stucco mouldings gives the interior a dignified feel, while the bird motif wallpaper introduces a subtle naturalistic touch. The wooden dressing table next to the bed, fitted with a semi-circular mirror, is the perfect combination of functionality and aesthetics. Soft grey and blue curtains complete the look, creating a calm, relaxing atmosphere where every detail works in harmony with the rest of the arrangement.

Workspace

With the hybrid working model in mind, the designers focused on functionality and ergonomics. The study, which also serves as an additional sleeping area, was created with a view to saving forms and maximising space. The minimalist form of the furniture, the bespoke built-ins and the wall shelving have been incorporated in such a way that both remote working and a short nap are possible here. The versatile room combines not only aesthetics but also incredible functionality.

The answer to the needs of

Designed with dual function in mind, the bathroom combines a bathing area with a functional washing and drying area. Thoughtful solutions, such as a high built-in unit in the corner with washing machine and dryer and under the washbasin designed drawers and a side basket for clothes, demonstrate a practical approach to organising a small but highly functional space. Every centimetre has been managed so that users can enjoy tidiness and aesthetics without compromise.

An additional asset of the flat is the small toilet, which, despite its small size, meets all aesthetic and functional requirements. The subdued combination of dark wood, light-coloured furniture and tiles imitating marble gives this room a unique character, bringing a touch of luxury to the whole project. This is a perfect example of how even the smallest space can be transformed into a work of functional art.
