from among the nominated sites, awarded AWARDS in the following categories:

in the category MULTIFAMILY RESIDENTIAL BUILDING:

Murawa 2, authors: Insomia

prize of the Marshal’s Office of the Wielkopolska Region: pLN 4.5 thousand

The jury awards the Murawa 2 housing estate for its apt design responses to a context understood at least on three levels: spatial-urban, economic-social and formal-legal.

The project transforms what, according to the local plan, was to be a single-family development into an open multi-family complex. The spaces accessible to all residents of the city, the neighbourhood zones as well as the flats themselves have been designed with care. The materials used go beyond the common catalogue of solutions. The building height resulting from the local plan has made it possible to create living spaces with unusual proportions. The preservation of the existing greenery and the introduction of a large number of species-diverse plantings allow the new architecture to fit effectively into the surrounding context. Ultimately, what is rewarded is the cleverness of the designer used to create high-quality architecture.

in the ONE-FAMILY HOUSE category:

HOUSE A | second life of a 1970s house

authors : PL. ARCHITECTS | architecture and interiors: Bartłomiej Bajon, Katarzyna Cynka – Bajon design team: Bartosz Stanek, Joanna Sypniewska construction: BSD constructions: Jacek Kryske, Patryk Kasprzycki

award of the Marshal’s Office of the Wielkopolska Region: pLN 4.5 thousand

In the opinion of the jury, this project is a very good answer to the question of what to do with existing, degraded urban buildings that no longer meet the requirements of modern life.

In this house we see no walls separating individual rooms filled with furniture. All the elements that make up the body of the building seem to surround the ideal living space with their ‘care’. No element here is accidental, each wall, apart from carrying the weight of its structural function, has an additional function – it becomes a frame for a view, a cupboard full of essentials, or an element of technology needed in the modern home.

in the PUBLIC UTILITY BUILDING category:

Sports and entertainment hall in Książ Wielkopolski

authors: PL.ARCHITEKCI | Architecture and Interior Design: Bartłomiej Bajon, Katarzyna Cynka Bajon, Team: Bartosz Stanek, Joanna Sypniewska,

Karol Kremski, construction: BSD constructions: Jacek Kryske, Patryk Kasprzycki, installations: TMI Tomasz Murawa, SPPoprawa

prize of the Marshal’s Office of the Wielkopolska Region: pLN 4.5 thousand

Excellent integration of the architecture into the terrain, appropriate scale, modesty and elegance of the massing, as well as exquisitely memorable interiors corresponding to the function, are the main features for which the jury of this year’s edition of the Architectural Award of the Wielkopolska Voivodeship granted an award in the “Public Utility Building” category to the sports and entertainment hall in Książ Wielkopolski.

in the category COMMON SPACE:

Bridges in Słupca – development of the waterfront of Słupeckie Lake

author: Paweł Grobelny

prize of the Marshal’s Office of the Wielkopolska Region: pLN 4.5 thousand

The jury awards the prize to the project “Słupeckie Bridges – development of the Słupeckie Lake waterfront” for creating a high quality public space through conscious and balanced design decisions. The simple, geometric forms of the wooden piers fit harmoniously into the landscape of the lake, enabling observation of nature from new perspectives. The waterfront has become an attractive meeting place for residents, providing them with a wide range of leisure activities.

The jury particularly appreciated the sensible use of resources, simplicity, legibility and the use of natural materials. The wooden elements will develop a patina over time, further emphasising the cohesion with nature.

honorable mention in the COMMON SPACE category:

Pulpit – viewing platform on Lake Malta

authors: Partizian architecture, Dawid Konopka, Paweł Siemaszko, Hanna Butryn, Aleksandra Kowańska, Krisztina Ferencz, Emese Inczédy, Ákos Reizinger, Jakub Martiška, Kevin Valient, Dominik Mettler

The jury singled out the project Ambona – viewing platform on Lake Malta for its subtle and thoughtful integration into the landscape, where the simple form of the pavilion and interesting detailing create a unique space for communing with nature. The openwork wooden structure attracts with its lightness, providing an interesting view of the lake and a break from the urban hustle and bustle.

With this award, the jury would like to thank the participants and organisers of the Mood For Wood workshop for their invaluable contribution to the creation of valuable places in the public space of Poznań.

Exhibition design ,,Klimatyczne Karkonosze”: Koza Nostra

prize of the Marshal’s Office of the Wielkopolska Region: pLN 5,000

Their objects realised in the context of historical buildings say a lot about the design culture of architects. The boundaries between imitation and interpretation are very narrow in such cases. The Architecture Award of the Wielkopolska Region 2024 in the category EXPORT WORK was awarded to Pracownia Architektoniczna 1997 for the KPN Nature and Education Centre Sobieszów Palace. The jury appreciated the successful attempt to enrich the historical complex with objects that not only do not harm it, but also add value, while maintaining a contemporary language of architectural expression. The award was given for the culture with which the authors balance between the old and new tissue, between preserving the individuality of the buildings and their harmonisation in the ensemble, for the modesty and elegance of the buildings, their full accessibility and the use of pro-climatic technologies perfectly suited to the educational and natural function of the Centre.

in the INTERIOR category:

Sports and entertainment hall in Książ Wielkopolski

authors: PL.ARCHITEKCI | Architecture and Interior Design: Bartłomiej Bajon, Katarzyna Cynka Bajon, team: Bartosz Stanek, Joanna Sypniewska,

Karol Kremski, construction: BSD constructions: Jacek Kryske, Patryk Kasprzycki, installations: TMI Tomasz Murawa, SPPoprawa

prize of the Marshal’s Office of the Wielkopolska Region: pLN 4.5 thousand

Excellent integration of the architecture into the terrain, appropriate scale, modesty and elegance of the massing, as well as interiors that are exquisitely suited to their function and memorable are the main features for which the jury of this year’s edition of the Architectural Award of the Wielkopolska Region granted an award in the “Interiors” category to the sports and entertainment hall in Książ Wielkopolski.

in the YOUNG ARTIST category:

m.Sc. arch. Jędrzej Pawlaczyk

The life of an architect is not a job, but a vocation and a lifestyle. When choosing the winner, the members of the Chapter had to ask themselves who should be set as an example to young students of this art, but also to show the experienced ones that the younger generation is behind them and is treading on their toes, giving them hope that our profession will develop.

In our opinion, the person we wanted to award in this year’s edition could be such a role model. With his independent and team work, Jędrzej Pawlaczyk has shown what potential he has. Professionally, he has won the recognition of his employers, who invited him to join their team. With his approach to his profession and the architecture he creates, he shows that it is not just about “filling space aesthetically”. Despite his young age, he already has a lot of experience, which he also uses in his social work, where he helps people with architecture.

This year’s laureate has achieved professional success not only with his realisations and projects, but also with his cooperation, which is a very important feature of our professional life. With his work, his attitude and sensitivity, as well as his ability to cooperate, he has proven that the title of Young Creator has gone to worthy hands. May he be an example for the young and a hope for the mature.

GRAND PRIX:

Sports and Entertainment Hall in Książ Wielkopolski

authors: PL.ARCHITEKCI | architecture and interiors: Bartłomiej Bajon, Katarzyna Cynka Bajon, team: Bartosz Stanek, Joanna Sypniewska,

Karol Kremski, construction: BSD constructions: Jacek Kryske, Patryk Kasprzycki, installations: TMI Tomasz Murawa, SPPoprawa

The Grand Prix was awarded to a project that definitely stands out in every aspect: urban planning, architecture and interior design.

It is an object on the scale of contemporary architecture, realised in a small town with a limited budget. It demonstrates that by choosing the right, capable and creative designer, architecture can be created that is both highly functional and well integrated into the landscape and surrounding buildings. The jury decided to award this prize not only to the authors of the project themselves, but also to the Municipality, which trusted the architects, resulting in the creation of this exceptional building. In the opinion of the jury, the building is an example that the determinant of high quality architecture is not a high budget, but the high competence of the designers.
