They carry out projects from Paris to Moldova. This is how the Tremend studio works.

Projects in France, Spain, Ukraine, Latvia, and Hungary. Winning architectural competitions for global hotel brands. Architects from the Tremend studio are successfully acquiring commissions in new foreign markets across Europe. 2025 was a breakthrough year in this respect.

Today, projects bearing the Tremend logo can be found in Paris, Barcelona and Budapest, among other cities. Polish architects, who gained their first experience years ago by modernising buildings belonging to the Orbis chain, are now active players in markets across Europe. And the brand they have developed over the years enjoys a good reputation among investors – the largest international hotel brands such as Hilton, Marriott, Accor, IHG and MEININGER.

A big city break or a holiday on the Adriatic

In recent years, Tremend architects have managed to expand their portfolio to include hotel projects in France, Spain and Hungary, among others. However, 2025 was a breakthrough year in terms of winning contracts and strengthening their position in foreign markets. This year alone, Polish architects continued their work in Barcelona, Strasbourg and the Adriatic resort town of Durres in Albania, and finalised projects in Lviv (Tulip Residences), Riga (Pullman), Budapest (Mövenpick) and Villepinte (Golden Tulip). In the second quarter of 2025, the official start of construction of a new Accor facility in Ljubljana took place – in this investment, the architects are responsible for the interior design of the hotel.

The original style of Tremend’s designs and the studio’s many years of experience have also resulted in winning architectural competitions for global hotel brands in the Czech Republic, Moldova and France, where Polish designers won two competitions in which they competed with local offices and studios from the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, among others. One of them concerned the redevelopment and interior design for Crowne Plaza, a premium brand for which the architects had previously created redevelopment and interior concepts for facilities in Warsaw and Budapest.

As a result, the studio’s portfolio now includes projects for both prestigious premium brands and more lifestyle-oriented brands.

“In recent years, we have managed to establish Tremend’s position on foreign markets, especially the French market. This is the result of many years of work by our entire team: on the one hand, gaining experience and building specialist know-how, and on the other, flexibility: the ability to respond to the changing needs of hotel guests, which change along with lifestyle changes. And also creativity, because today’s design is not only meant to express the brand’s profile, but also to delight and intrigue. In other words, it should create memorable experiences. It is creativity – for example, in drawing on local designthat our foreign partners particularly value when choosing our projects in international competitions,” says architect Magdalena Federowicz-Boule, founder of the Tremend studio.

Tremend architects continue to be active in the hospitality segment in Poland. Here, the investments to be completed in 2025 include the voco Katowice hotel (renovation of a historic building, interior design) and B&B Hotel Kalisz Centrum (interior design), as well as the interiors of two restaurants and the new branding and interior design concept for a well-known bakery chain. In Warsaw alone, projects for the Marriott and Hilton brands are currently at an advanced stage, with Tremend architects involved in the collaboration.

15th anniversary of the Tremend studio

Symbolically, in 2025, the studio celebrated its 15th anniversary. The last 12 months have been marked by events confirming the experience and achievements of architects in other areas of professional activity: public buildings, infrastructure projects and residential architecture.

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Augustów Roundup, the Augustów Roundup Memorial House, located in the Turk House in Augustów, was inaugurated. In this case, Tremend architects were responsible for the extension of the 100-year-old monument and the adaptation of the building for museum functions. Their work was recognised with a nomination for the final of the international World Architecture Festival competition.

There was also recognition from the Polish community – nominations for the POLITYKA Architectural Award and the Real Estate Impactor award from the Rzeczpospolita daily newspaper for the design of the Metropolitan Station in Lublin, which was commissioned over a year ago. Alongside the Łódź Fabryczna Station project, this was the largest infrastructure project in the architects’ career. The experience they gained in this field is now being put to use in their work on another major challenge – the Port Polska railway component project. At the same time, the Tremend team continued to work on several residential projects in Warsaw. One of the largest projects in this segment is the Aleje Praskie housing estate, the next stage of which was completed a few months ago. The estate was ranked third in Warsaw by the Rynek Pierwotny portal, which highlights residential investments that are most popular with buyers.
