They have been building in Poland for 30 years. Liebrecht & wooD with a rich portfolio

Setting new trends in the real estate industry, a lasting commitment to the sustainable development of urban spaces and dozens of exceptional investments – including such pioneering projects as the Koneser Praga Centre, Plac Unii or the emerging Drucianka Campus. This is the balance sheet of Liebrecht & wooD’s 30 years of activity in Poland.

Liebrecht & wooD officially inaugurated its presence in Poland on 26 October 1994. Over three decades, the company with Belgian origins has made a significant mark on the landscape of Warsaw and other Polish cities – Gdańsk, Poznań or Sosnowiec. Its founders, Patrick Van Den Bossche and Marc Lebbe, have always been guided by the motto “a different vision onreal estate”, which has remained with the company to this day has remained with the company ever since.

When we came to Poland in 1994, the landscape was very different to what it is today. Capitalism was still in its infancy, but the enormous potential of the Polish economy was apparent, manifested in particular in the great motivation of people to work and develop themselves. It was a challenge and at the same time an opportunity to do something new. As pioneers, we started creating the first modern offices. This was followed by the business development of Jerozolimskie Avenue. Later on, our portfolio included the first “outlet” centres in Poland, as well as logistics and mixed-use developments. In recent years, we have focused on bringing life back to places that have been neglected or abandoned for decades. The Praga Koneser Centre and the Drucianka Campus under construction are the result of this vision of sustainable construction. Both projects are part of the revitalisation of Warsaw’s Praga area – says Marc Lebbe, co-founder of Liebrecht & wooD.

Not only buildings

liebrecht & wooD’s 30 years in Poland have meant a constant emphasis on social responsibility and the role of developers in shaping cities. An expression of this was the adoption of the ESG Policy in 2023. The company’s commitment in this area is also evident in its values, unchanged since its beginnings in the domestic market.

Liebrecht & wooD’s mission is to create real estate with its holistic, harmonious surroundings. Our goal has always been to construct buildings that have a positive impact not only on the landscape, but also on the community. In doing so, we do not forget that the key to the longevity of any building is its efficiency, which comes first and foremost from our respect for the environment. This is why sustainable construction is one of the company ‘s cornerstones,” emphasises Patrick Van Den Bossche, co-founder of Liebrecht & wooD.

Diverse portfolio

During its three decades on the Polish market, Liebrecht & wooD has distinguished itself with the realisation of extraordinary buildings. The company’s portfolio includes a number of investments that have significantly influenced the urban landscape. Among them are:

  • pioneering office complexes, setting new directions for business development in Warsaw (Jerozolimskie Business Park, Batory Office Buildings, Kopernik Office Buildings, Flanders Business Park);
  • the country’s first “outlet” centres (Gdańsk, Piaseczno, Sosnowiec);
  • an outstanding mixed-use development with a dominant office character, at the junction of the capital’s Śródmieście and Mokotów districts(Plac Unii);
  • revitalisation of post-industrial historic areas, bringing previously degraded spaces back to residents(Praga Koneser Centre);
  • an innovative next-generation talent campus, unlocking the business potential of the East Warsaw transport hub(Drucianka Campus – in progress).

When realising each project, we think of both the future users and all those who create it. Liebrecht & wooD’s strength is its committed and exceptional team, enabling us to create places with extraordinary potential. It is thanks to their passion that we can really change the surroundings for the better, and through placemaking activities, of which the Koneser Praga Centre is an example, strengthen local communities and be a part of them – emphasises Magdalena Bartkiewicz-Podoba, CEO of Liebrecht & wooD in Poland, associated with the company for over 25 years, since 2018 as CEO.
